Job Description: Objective: - Lead tax compliances for Indirect taxation applicable to the States under the preview of this role by closing working with Centralized GST compliance Team at FSS - Lead / Assist in efficient handling of litigations at all levels - On need basis, assist in working with government and tax agencies on policy advocacy relating to tax matters and ensure expeditious resolution - Stakeholder management - Keeping corporate office abreast of various tax implications on a continuing basis, including advice to business as required on case to case to case basis Title : Manager - Taxation Function: Finance Work Location: Maharashtra (Pune) Job Responsibilities : - Lead the compliance on account of Indirect Tax, as applicable to the States being handled. This would include working closely with Centralized GST compliance Team at FSS - Work towards monitoring the tax controls and continuous improvement in this area through the robust system and process orientation - Represent the tax matters / litigation before various tax authorities - Deal with regulatory agencies for all tax related issues Job Responsibilities: - Keeping the corporate office aware of the tax implications of tax laws on business decisions, applicable to the respective States / Zones being handled - Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors on tax matters and provide necessary support to the corporate tax team during the audit - Working with external resources for advice and resolutions - Response to information queries of Tax Department at HO on IT and Indirect Taxes - Development and maintenance of accessible records management system - Maintenance of updated tax database (TLMS) and review of status - Handling Departmental Audit queries, investigations, and enquiries - Drafting of Reply to SCN's at first stage and forwarding the same for items pertaining to HO Bangalore - Dealing with Tax points in IGAAP, US GAAP and Compliance Audits - Tax implication analysis on RFAs and its compliance (e.g. Write off of Stocks and reversal of credits) - Recommendation to HO Tax on issues to be contested - Internal / External Stakeholder Management Supervises: Direct Reports: 5 Geographical Scope: PAN India Reports To: National Head - Taxation Key Customers: Key Customers: Internal Customers: Other sub functions in FSS/BSS, Zonal Finance and Taxation, Commercial and procurement department, Zonal finance managers at units/plants/region, HO Tax Cell External Customers: Tax Consultant, Lawyers, Law firms, Regulatory Authority Job Requirement : Qualifications: CA with experience in a comparable system with edge on Compliance and dealing with Department officials having expertise to handle complex tax matters and good tax litigations handling experience Experience: 5 to 8 years of experience in Indirect taxation function in a mid-sized manufacturing company having manufacturing and sales activities in different states preferably FMCG. Added experience in Direct taxes and in a shared services environment will be an advantage.
