Role Purpose:

- The role of the Placement Director will focus on broadening the relationship with industry/ corporate to foster meaningful interactions leading to campus placements, strategic tie-up, campus visits, invitations to special events & announcements. They are responsible for preparing a blueprint for Industry- Institute Collaboration for the university.

- The Placement Director is also responsible for managing a team of placement officers & organizing placement activities from the initial screening to successful placements.

- The Placement Director will also ensure that all academic & placement operations are carried on smoothly & effectively. The goal is to ensure that our students are able to meet the eligibility of top reputed companies that would result in successful placements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Implement the Vision & Mission of the institution and accordingly plan, develop & implement a student placements plan for the programs offered at the University.

- Prepare a placement and career development strategy for the different schools under the University that would aid in attracting potential industry partners. The strategy should take into consideration knowledge of the current student batches, academic performance, major and minor specializations, interest areas of the students, etc. The strategy should also define the targets (collective and department wise) for the number of placements companies and offers, number of internships, median and average compensation, etc.

- Carry out market research and surveys on skills and abilities that employers look for and gather on-going market trends on employment statistics so as to maintain a working knowledge of current workforce needs and job markets as required.

- Engage proactively and strategically with potential hiring companies to understand their needs in terms of both job positions and critical skills for success in their companies.

- Develop partnerships with employers, education and training programs to support former students in achieving their career goals.

- Organize interactive sessions such as workshops, seminars and webinars with industry experts on a regular basis. They must plan and organize educational tours and industrial visits for students to build strong relationships with industrial recruiters for internship and job opportunities.

- Organize seminar programs for aptitude tests, personality development, interpersonal and communication skills, career planning and mapping, mock interviews, resume and LinkedIn profile building, etc.

- He/ She should be able to build strong relationships with employers and help placement officers set up local partnerships with companies where students can do internships or externships or visit for job shadowing. They can also recommend students to these employers after they learn what skills companies prefer from candidates.

- Creating a welcoming environment in the student placement office and creating a system that will allow for responding to telephone and email correspondence in a timely and courteous manner.

- Implementing student-centered registration and placement workflow processes to ensure that families receive timely registration information and access. Specifically, implementing workflow improvement strategies to reduce the amount of time from the point of request for services to the delivery of such service.

- Plan and design a Placement/Industry Brochure in close coordination with the admissions team.

- Leading the transformation to an automated registration system through the use of existing and new technology strategies with the goal of facilitating a quick and accurate response to enrollment and registration requests and questions.

- Ensures that a high level of customer service is consistently provided to former students through the case management process.

- Plan and implement and manage the entire placement process for the University. This includes preparing placement calendar, meeting potential industry partners, providing dates and facilities for organizing tests and interviews, etc. and ensure that the process is carried out smoothly.

- Collect and analyze feedback from employers on factors such as the performance of candidates, process efficiency and take steps to improve the factors. They must take the candidate's feedback on the employer for future reference.

- Create and maintain a database on all current and historic statistics, analyze the data and report the findings.

- Analyze placement statistics after the process and report it to the management for key points such as percentage of students placed, average and median CTC, batch profiles, number of companies and number of offers, diversity of the offers, etc.

Skills:

- Must possess excellent knowledge of Campus Placement with principles and best practices.

- Strong interpersonal skills to network with employers and coach students who have diverse needs.

- Strong analytical skills help placement officers gather job information from their research, screen students for suitable positions, and offer career development advice

Required Core Competencies:

- A minimum of a Bachelor; Master's Degree ( in any discipline) is preferred.

- A minimum of three years of experience in recruiting or career development or in a similar capacity with exposure to Career management systems is an added advantage.

- High proficiency in computer technology (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access) and active on social media (LinkedIn for recruiting and networking)
