Cloud Architect - Information Solutions

Cloud Architect at an Information Solutions subsidiary of a leading Swiss Pharma and Biotech company. The role is Global in nature and the candidate will be working with multiple geographies across the globe

Skills Required:

Managed the end-to-end lifecycles of a platforms/products/applications in cloud architect capacity

- Experience with mission critical technology components with DR capabilities

- Extensive experience in financial management, solution plan development and product cost estimation

- Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for cloud end-to-end architecture, including AWS or Azure and future providers, networking, provisioning, and management

- Proficient in understanding of Application, Infrastructure and security architecture and non-functional aspects like Performance, Scalability, Reliability, Availability etc of a system

- Understanding of latest cloud computing and data technologies, business drivers, emerging computing trends, and deployment options.

- Expert in defining, designing and developing distributed and scalable products and services, including

reusable domain-specific microservices on multi-platform /hybrid clouds (such as, AWS, Microsoft Azure ,Rackspace, VMware, or OpenStack)

- Defining Architecture by analyzing the current system and building state of the art future architecture by meeting the organization requirements.

- Work with the global architecture team for definition and development of reference architecture and management systems.

- Ability to understand build vs buy decisions and should be able to communicate effectively and influence different stakeholders

- Provide tactical scope and work directly with the business representatives/customers to understand the requirements driving the need for a solution to be developed of the project is overlooked

- Experience automating systems deployments and configuration management using different tools or have ability to build required tools to automate & encourage the team for the error-less and fast delivery of software products

- Mentoring and training the new team members.

Additionally:

- 15+ years of experience and around 3+years in years cloud architect role using service and hosting solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platforms. Should be hands-on in current role.

- Proven record of accomplishment of Software development full lifecycle methodologies, architectural & design patterns, frameworks, libraries and tools.

- Experience in architecting and designing technical solutions for solutions based on industry standards using (AWS or Azure) IaaS, PaaS and SaaS capabilities.

- Experience with any authentication (SAML/OAuth/OIDC/JWT), MFA, JIT, and/or RBAC / Ping etc

- One or more programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, PHP, Ruby, PERL, C++, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, SQL, .NET, etc.

- Managing end to end infrastructure on cloud (Storage, Compute services, Databases/warehouse, workspaces etc.)

- Managing Enterprise data lake (including data ingestion, data integration with Different systems, Data Storage)

- Strong understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, and/or client/server systems

- Managing complete ETL operations, Data cataloguing, Data access management, Governance and Security

- Managing API/Micro services platform (Creation, Deployment, Maintenance)

- Liasoning with business for Cloud related requirement and solution architecture

- Should have experience of cloud security controls including tenant isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, vulnerability assessments, application firewalls, SIEM, etc.

- Delivery using common methodologies especially SAFe Agile but also Waterfall, Iterative etc.

- Demonstrated knowledge of software development tools and methodologies

- Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT management, and developers

- Certifications e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure, TOGAF etc.

- Extensive experience in build and reshaping platforms/products/applications.

- Experience in architecting mobile applications that are either independent applications or supplementary add-ons

- Gather and present metrics and activities for the projects to key stakeholders.

- Mentoring and training the new team members.

Education

- Bachelors in computers or Masters of Science (MS) degree in relevant area of study is preferred.

- Experience in testing business intelligence/analytics applications or software for multi-tenant enterprise SaaS applications is a big plus

- Scripting experience with bash or python or shell scripting. Must feel comfortable writing automation scripts

- Knowledge of Big Data Technologies any one or more of: HP Vertica, Hadoop, SPARK, Amazon EMR, Redshift, Kinesis and/or DynamoDB, ,ETL, and data modeling with any one of Oracle, MySQL, DB2, or MS SQL Server considered a plus

- Experience in the healthcare business/industry considered a big plus
