Climate Connect - Head - Analytics

Climate Connect Limited is an Information and Analytics start-up for Energy Environment Markets. Started in 2010 by Cambridge University alumni, it runs a network of data analytics websites for US, India and China energy environment markets. The company's core strength is a unique combination of sector knowledge, analytical skills and IT tools. Team members are based in Delhi (India), Pune (India), London (UK) and Shanghai (China). The company is backed by investors from California.

The Role :

Climate Connect has a management level position for someone who can build a team focused on providing machine learning and big data enabled solutions to energy, primarily electricity, customers in US and Europe. Ideal candidate will have proven and demonstrable experience in developing mathematical algorithms and a broad knowledge of statistics, machine learning, optimization, and financial math. Strong command of statistical packages will be required.

The Head of analytics will be an integral part of Climate Connect management team, therefore responsible for :

- Building and supervising team of members for data sciences team

- Working with business team to identify analytical interventions in customer businesses

- Working with software engineering team in deploying the developed models tailored to specific customer needs

- Close collaboration with company management as well as direct customer contact to establish commercial strategy.

Required :

- Sound understanding of mathematical and statistical concepts acquired through education/academic research.

- Proven experience in an academic, corporate or start-up environment of working on artificial intelligence products or services, ideally more than 5 years.

- Advanced knowledge of statistical tools like MATLAB and/or R.

- Demonstrate ability to transform theoretical knowledge to practical, real-world situations.

- Be results-oriented, able to meet tight deadlines and produce clear and concise feedback/reports to management team.

- Proven ability to work on multiple complex and competing business objectives in a highly fluid and dynamic environment.

- Proven experience of working an international team, primarily with US and European customers.

- Must be willing to work in a start-up environment.

- Knowledge of energy and electricity industry helpful, though not a must.

Qualification : MS degree or PhD (preferred) in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or other quantitative discipline from a top rated university.
