Cleartax, one of India's fastest emerging fin-tech startups, is the most popular tax preparation and efiling platform in India as of today, along with the Income Tax Department's website. Founded in 2011, the business has achieved impressive scale with 1.5 million users, 20,000 businesses and 10,000 CA firms on the platform.

Founded by Archit Gupta (Chief Executive Officer), Srivatsan Chari (COO) and Ankit Solanki (CTO), Cleartax is the first India-focused startup to be funded by Y-Combinator (2014). In April 2016, the business received USD 1.3 million of seed funding from Silicon Valley investors, including PayPal cofounder Max Levchin and Scott Banister, who was an early investor in Facebook and Uber. Other early investors include Whatsapp's Neeraj Arora and Dropbox's Ruchi Sanghvi. Later in May 2016, ClearTax received a second round of funding of $2 million from Sequoia Capital and Founders Fund. In June 2016, they raised a Series A of USD 12 milllion from SAIF Partners; this is one of the largest Series A rounds announced this year.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Cleartax is looking to hire a sales & business development leader who would own the P&L for their newly-launched GST Practice for the particular cities.

This is a leadership position and has a responsibility for strategizing and executing the overall growth strategy of this vertical.

The incumbent will work closely with the founding team and be responsible for guiding, mentoring and coaching a talented group of young professionals and leveraging their individual know-how in reaching key decisions.

The team currently consists of 3 people, which s/he would be expected to upscale over a period of time. An ability to constantly challenge the status quo, challenge the team, and challenge peers in order to achieve the organization's business objectives would be key to the incumbent's success.

Qualification(s), Competencies, Skills & Experience:

The incumbent would come in with 6+ years of hands-on experience in sales & business development (preferably in a high-volume business), along with expertise in managing offline distribution channels.

Experience in working in a dynamic, unstructured environment where the individual has built processes, teams and contributed to the overall growth of the business is preferable.

Strong people management skills - past experience in building and mentoring teams.

Should be high on analytical skills, business understanding and ability to take data-driven decisions.
