The Business Entity

Cisco's Global Supply Management (GSM) organization consists of several commodity teams that work with Cisco's supply base to ensure effective cost, quality and delivery of material to Cisco's manufacturing partners.

Team Description

A central process team develops processes, tools, metrics and reports to enable greater effectiveness and productivity of the entire GSM organization. This position is within the GSM central process team. Reports to the Global GSM Acquisition & Integration, Process and Analytics Lead

Role & Responsibilities

Responsible for providing technical analysis in the development and implementation of complex data mining, analysis, collection and presentation tools for improving supply chain flexibility and productivity. May provide creative knowledge management solution development for various members of the manufacturing, or supply management organizations. Responsible for documenting solutions and processes related to developed tools.

This may include the following:

- Ability to express complex technical supply chain solutions and concepts effectively, both orally and in writing. Participate as both observer and active member in gathering business requirements through a variety of techniques (workshops, work sessions and interviews).

- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Access/MS Excel; VB/VBA/VB-Script; PHP, D3, SQL query writing and standalone tool development. . Knowledge of Data Mining, Data Analytics, Metric Creation and Reporting. Demonstrated ability to learn new technical platforms with ease, especially Web-based technologies

- Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment while balancing multiple priorities. Work with business teams to understand business requirements and perform technical feasibility analysis (prototyping) and provide technical solutions that meets/performs to functional and technical requirements.

- Developing and supporting analytical processes that provide users with timely, flexible and structured access to data through design and implementation of solutions using third-party and/or in-house reporting tools as well as modeling metadata, building reports and dashboards. Will use a variety of formal and informal attributes to architect, design, prototype and implement systems to meet requirements.

- Able to interact with IT partners and business representatives in business requirement documentation (BRD). Communicating and translating business requirements to IT to ensure uninterrupted transition from prototype to enterprise solution.

- Develop and implement metrics to identify patterns and trends and provide regular updates to management. Must have strong analytical skills and enjoy working with large complex data sets. Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL, OLAP, data structures and mathematical modeling algorithms.

- Ability to develop and drive adoption of new technologies and work within existing technologies that allow the team to improve productivity. Demonstrated experience developing automated solutions that eliminate recurring tasks through a deep passion for efficiency.

- Demonstrated ability to independently conduct data research, sometimes with external and unfamiliar databases and datasets, to prototype requirements and prove or refute data-related business requests. Able to compose moderately complex SQL statements to support that research.

- Strong documentation skills for processes that utilize developed tools including scope, purpose, stakeholder identification, process flows and RACI charts

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Typically requires: BSCS or equivalent plus 7+years f relevant experience in supply chain processes and systems in addition to relational database technologies, applications and development. MSCS or MBA with BSCS preferred.

- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills with specific ability to communicate through all levels of the organization including Director, VP.

- Experience with Cisco's Cost Management and Quoting System (CMQS) and/or experience with other cost management systems such as SAP would be beneficial.
