Position : Manager - Head- Functional Academy

Department : Human Resources

Reporting to : Head- Learning & Development

Job Description:

Accountability Cluster :

- Developing, implementing and facilitating Functional Academy to cultivate strong domain knowledge and ensure standards are upheld in all facets of design, development and delivery

Major Activities / Tasks:

- Develop strong relationships with key business stakeholders to identify specific capability needs and ensure Training programmes are delivered effectively against defined delivery/service levels

- Oversee the launch of academies by having a clear launch plan and glide path

- Ensure required resources are on board for an academy to go live

- Support in socializing the launch plan with all key stake holders in that domain

- Flag off the academies as per the set charter

Accountability Cluster :

Driving effective governance of academies ensuring robust functioning of the academy councils for sustainability and growth of business as well as academies :

Major Activities / Tasks :

- Advising on good governance practices and compliance of Corporate Governance norms as prescribed under various Corporate, Securities and Other Business Laws and regulations and guidelines made thereunder.

- To prepare, approve, sign and seal agreements leases, legal forms, and other official documents on the company's behalf, when authorised by the broad of the directors or the executive respoCreate and nurture a robust team with the right talent that will work to achieve the defined academy purpose

- Develop tracking mechanism to serve as a report card for both, business & academy.

- Drive regular council meetings and monitor implementation post meetings Conduct monthly reviews based upon the MIS to identify areas of strength and improvement and offer support

- Create an academy lead's forum to facilitate knowledge sharing amongst them

- Support academy leads in conducting domain specific interactions (eg. all HR/L&D members in particular domain area) to ensure effective partnership between the design and execution entitiesnsible.

Accountability Cluster :

Driving and leading the functional academies to build constant evolving and business relevant functional Centres of excellence.

Major Activities / Tasks :

- Interact with business leaders on a regular basis to obtain and sustain their continued sponsorship

- Extend support with respect to resources - budget, infrastructure, human resource etc. where needed

- Design support through central pool of instructional designers to academy

- Offer branding and communications support for all academy interventions through the operations team

Accountability Cluster:

Building the learning and development team, driving impact and valued learning solutions to ensure world class content availability and delivery for Cipla

Major Activities / Tasks :

- Build a capable and effective team - in academies and embedded team members

- Focus on their capability building on a regular basis and have a development plan in place

- Introduce new methodologies and best practices with respect to design and delivery and orient the team to the same

- Plan periodical refreshers and sessions to keep the team up to date with respect to L&D functional skills

Accountability Cluster :

Driving the agenda to build a technically competent and cross functionally capable workforce to ensure the development of a learning organization aligned towards business excellence

Major Activities / Tasks :

- Support in deepening technical / functional capabilities at a strategic level, of senior functional leaders as well as potential successors for this position

- Partner with external institutes, both domestic as well as international, for this purpose

- Identify areas for cross functional capability building process in line with the strategic priorities of the organization

- Design and execute cross functional capability building programmes

- Identify areas for collaboration and synergy through periodical sharing and review process and ensure seamless implementation of the same

Preferred Qualification Experience :

- Post Graduate Degree

Experience : Minimum 10 - 12 years of work experience in which 5 - 7 years to be in L&D; exposure to functional / technical capability building is important

Other capabilities :

- Overall understanding of business (pharma preferred)

- In-depth understanding of L&D processes & frameworks, with specific reference to functional capability building

- Partnership & influencing skills

- Driving learning governance

- Review & monitoring skills

- Facilitation skills
