Position: Lead - Lead- Learning & Development, Manufacturing and Quality Academy

Department - Human Resources

Job Location - Mumbai

Reporting to - Head - Functional Academy

Job Purpose:

Facilitate in building current and futuristic capabilities by deciding and driving the learning agenda for manufacturing & quality domains in consultation with the academy council and in line with the guidelines set by the Cipla University

Key Accountabilities:

Accountability Cluster:

I. Set the short & long term learning agenda for the domain in alignment with business needs and priorities

Major Activities / Tasks -

a) Define the curriculum framework and build the learning curriculum for different stake holders in that domain as per approved glide path

b) Publish signed off annual learning focus areas for the domain - building pivotal capabilities that will be driven seamlessly across

II. Drive new intervention launches in an efficient and effective manner in line with the plan

Major Activities / Tasks -

a) Consolidate the list of new interventions to be launched

b) Conduct detailed diagnostics and identify the most effective means (platform, methodology etc.) of addressing the need

c) Design a detailed project plan which includes details of experts to be partnered (internal/external), timelines etc.

d) Ensure robust and instructionally sound courses are launched in line with the standard process (6Ds) as per plan

e) Ensure periodical updation of existing courses as per plan

III. Support Head of Functional Academy in driving the governance process in an effective manner

Major Activities / Tasks -

a) Conduct regular council meetings as per process and plan

b) Implementation of decisions & action points as decided in the council

c) Periodical updates / dashboards to council members

d) Continuous engagement of council members in the learning agenda.

Accountability Cluster:

IV. Facilitator Management

a) Drive the Leaders as Teachers process for enhancing the effectiveness of the learning agenda a) Ensure availability of certified trainers for running the learning agenda

Major Activities / Tasks -

a) Develop key leaders as ambassadors of learning and ensure involvement of leaders across the entire learning value chain

b) Define parameters and identify internal / external trainers for running interventions

b) Conduct structured RFP process for identifying external trainers

c) Conduct Train the Trainer process and ensure certification of internal trainers as per set process

d) Create internal trainer interaction platforms and ensure periodical knowledge and skill upgradation

Accountability Cluster:

V. Ensure availability of adequate resources for operating the academy

Major Activities / Tasks -

a) Budget planning for the academy and budget guidelines to implementing entities in the domain

b) Present the business case for budgets to senior management and ensure sanctioning of budgets

c) Academy planning in line with the sanctioned budgets

d) Ensure availability of effective human resource in the central academy and implementing areas

e) Present academy's requirement of new learning platforms, mechanisms etc to the central CoE team

VI. Establish and communicate business impact of learning to all relevant stake holders

Major Activities / Tasks -

a) Partner with business to identify key parameters for business impact while setting the learning agenda

b) Support the team in establishing a process for measuring the impact and ensure adherence to the same

c) Document and communicate the impact created to all relevant stake holders

VII. Facilitate in building domain specific outside-in perspectives and build external partnerships

Major Activities / Tasks -

a) Co-oridnate with functional experts to identify and publish domain specific best practices

b) Build partnerships with thought leaders, practitioners and academic institutes in the domain for the purpose of internal capability building

VIII. Build One Cipla in driving the learning agenda

Major Activities / Tasks -

a) Ensure adherence to process guidelines laid down by Cipla University across the learning value chain

b) Actively take efforts to integrate with other academies to ensure synergies and greater efficiencies

IX. Act as a learning expert and support learning teams in the functional domain

Major Activities / Tasks -

a) Offer guidance and support for designing local interventions if any

b) Offer guidance for handling implementation challenges

c) Support Cipla University in building embedded team's capabilities on any new process / platforms

X. Audit qualitative implementation of interventions across various units within the domain

Major Activities / Tasks -

a) Define an audit plan and carry out audits and assessments

b) Identify reasons for gaps, if any, and support in addressing the same

Key Interactions

Internal :

- Functional heads in the domain - programme specific interactions to get their inputs on diagnostics as well as content validation

- Academy council members - once a month for council meetings; in between as per the need

- Subject matter experts - Programme specific for content development & delivery purposes

- Head of functional academy - regular for reporting purposes

- L&D Head - periodical basis for sharing details of work done

- HR head & unit HR Managers - regular basis for support purpose

- Learning technology team - regular basis for e learning content development and technology platform related

- Other academy managers - for regular sharing as well as areas of collaboration

- Academy member - regular for review and coaching

- Embedded L&D team - for review, support & coaching

External :

- Key institutes and agencies in the domain - on a regular basis to build and maintain partnerships

- External vendors for content design & delivery

- L&D teams in other organizations for best practice assessment

Skills & Knowledge :

Educational qualifications:

MBA in HR or from a behavioural science background from a premier institute; qualification in L&D frameworks and processes needed

Relevant experience:

Around 10 years of experience in HR and minimum 4 years in L&D

Other capabilities -

- L&D depth with specific reference to diagnostics & effectiveness, best practices etc

- In-depth understanding of various learning methodologies & platforms, including technology based platforms

- Understanding of instructional designing to review and approve content from an ID perspective

- Project management skills

- Coaching & mentoring skills

- Auditing skills

- 6Ds

- Result orientation

- Influencing skills
