Job brief - We are looking for a candidate who will independently process the motor data and convert data into meaning information using analytical skills by identifying trends and patterns and turning those information into business decisions to facilitate management and other stake holders. Responsibilities - Motor Underwriting Analyst responsibilities include leading Motor Portfolio Analytics to Monitor the Motor Insurance Portfolio and to provide useful insights to improve overall profitability and performance in line with Motor Underwriting Philosophy. - Perform Motor Portfolio Review to identify profitable segments, analyse results, and interpret trends or emerging patterns with recommendations. - Evaluate and price different motor risks appropriately based on the business requirements at channel and geography level. - Develop a strong understanding and mastery of key insurance ratios (combined ratios, loss ratios, frequency, severity, etc.) and to provide reports to business teams to improve performance across those metrics. - Create exception reports to validate motor risk parameters on day-to-day basis and to drive automation of repetitive data process/data manipulation tasks to enable greater focus on value-add analysis Requirements - Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and publish significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy - Strong knowledge of and interest to develop spreadsheet models as per business requirements - Strong knowledge of General insurance products is desirable - Able to work in continuously evolving environment and ready to take up uphill tasks - Excellent presentation and communication skills. - Proficient with Excel VBA, R. - Master's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics.
