Chief Technology Officer - IT

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technology Strategy and Planning:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.

- Identify emerging technologies and trends relevant to ecommerce and retail, and assess their potential impact on our operations.

- Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize technology initiatives and investments.

2. Software Development and Engineering:

- Lead a team of software engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of web and mobile applications using Node.js for web and React Native for mobile.

- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions that meet customer needs and exceed industry standards.

- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.

3. Node.js (Web Development):

- Proficiency in JavaScript, including ES6+ syntax and features.

- Deep understanding of Node.js runtime environment and its event-driven architecture.

- Experience with Node.js frameworks such as Express.js for building RESTful APIs and web applications.

- Knowledge of asynchronous programming and handling I/O operations in Node.js.

- Familiarity with package management tools like npm or Yarn.

- Understanding of server-side rendering (SSR) and client-side rendering (CSR) techniques.

- Proficient in working with databases, such as MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or others, using libraries like Mongoose or Sequelize.

- Experience with testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, or Jasmine for writing unit tests and integration tests.

- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving issues in Node.js applications.

- Knowledge of security best practices for web development, including authentication, authorization, and data validation.

4. React Native (Mobile Development):

- Proficiency in JavaScript and React.js library fundamentals.

- Hands-on experience with React Native framework for building cross-platform mobile applications.

- Understanding of React Native component lifecycle and state management using hooks or Redux.

- Familiarity with platform-specific UI components and APIs for iOS and Android.

- Knowledge of navigation patterns and routing in React Native applications.

- Experience with integrating third-party libraries and native modules using npm or yarn.

- Strong understanding of mobile performance optimization techniques, such as code splitting, lazy loading, and image optimization.

- Familiarity with debugging tools and techniques specific to React Native development.

- Knowledge of mobile app deployment processes for both iOS and Android platforms, including app store submission guidelines.

- Awareness of emerging trends and updates in the React Native ecosystem, including new libraries, tools, and features.

5. DevOps and Infrastructure Management:

- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of robust DevOps practices to streamline software deployment, monitoring, and automation.

- Manage cloud infrastructure and services to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security.

- Implement best practices for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment (CI/CD) processes.

6. ERP Integration and Optimization:

- Leverage your expertise in ERP systems to integrate and optimize enterprise resource planning solutions across the organization.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements, design solutions, and streamline business processes through ERP implementation.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 16-20 years of progressive experience in technology roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.

- Extensive hands-on experience with Node.js for web development and React Native for mobile application development.

- Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Proven track record of successfully implementing and optimizing ERP systems in a retail or ecommerce environment.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving innovation.
