Our client is an early-stage startup working in decentralized technologies, primarily blockchain backed by serial entrepreneurs and technologists in India and internationally; looking for an experienced engineer to join a founding team as a CTO/Engineering Lead. Responsibilities: - Build and lead a world-class engineering team in the blockchain - Hands-on development and training of junior engineers - Formulating strategy across technical and business departments - Shaping and building a strong, streamlined and cohesive engineering practice and culture - Ideating new product ideas alongside the research team - Build an organization from the ground-up with a young leadership team Required Skills: - Passionate about startup work - Strong algorithmic and distributed systems background - Strong experience with fault-tolerant distributed systems - Strong experience in databases - Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies in a rapid manner - Passionate about building secure applications - Strong experience across diverse technical stack: Java/Python and/or C++, Node.js, AWS, Rest APIs, Cloud, Kafka, MongoDB - Experience with the Crypto/Blockchain space - Can articulate the vision of decentralized technologies, particularly public blockchains - Comfortable working in large, complex and poorly documented code-bases - Experience with open-source technologies - Committed to seamless user experience - Interested in the philosophy of decentralization - Good aesthetics/design sense a plus - Research track record in theoretical computer science a plus
