Chief Technology Officer

About this Job :

The candidate will lead the design, architecture, and implementation for a variety of ecommerce application technologies and associated services. He will leverage strong functional knowledge to align business need with existing and emerging technologies to create functional and technical specifications. He will also provide critical input into the technology roadmap, will be able to balance the appeal of emerging technologies with operational readiness. He will serve as a mentor for junior team members.

- Responsible for the configuration, architecture, and management of complex environments that includes multiple platforms - blogging, ecommerce etc.

- Responsible for the technical and financial evaluation, design, integration, implementation and support of projects.

- Establish activity/project timetables and project plans as well as scope change requests.

- Initiate activities and projects related to areas of responsibility.

- Participate in the gathering of functional requirements

- Coordinate with Product Manager to implement product functionality as specified

- Work with junior members of the team to meet project timelines.

- Initiate activities and projects in order to support current and future business needs

- Recommend and define standards/directions/technologies.

- Proactive monitoring of integration points between systems

- Creation of detailed documentation

- Identification and elimination of recurring problems.

- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience

- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on current and emerging technologies and trends.

- Build and maintain strong partnership with internal and external customers/vendors.

- Prepare and communicate status, issues, and opportunities to the business.

- Partner with 3rd party vendors and consulting firms

Desired Skills and Experience :

Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters in CS/IT or BE (IT/CS/EEE/ECE)- Preferable from premier Institutes

- 5+ years in overall experience in managing full-life cycle projects and at least 3+ year of iterative development. Preference would be given to those who have strong mobile experience as well.

- Experience in a multi-country high traffic eCommerce business implementing web sites, service-oriented (SOA) architectures, middle-ware & supply chain solutions

- Ability to work with technologists based in multiple locations

- Experience with building scalable, high performing and robust Java applications

- Experience and passion to work in a fast paced Agile environment, delivering functional features in small time durations

- Understanding of or direct experience with Content Management systems

- In depth understanding of emerging technologies, patterns, and consumer trends.

- Core Java engineers interested with excellent problem solving abilities

- Strong in-depth Java Enterprise Web application expertise - J2EE

- Experience with Spring Frameworks

- Strong understanding of source control systems such as GIT

- Expertise with Jetty and/or Tomcat application servers

- HTML/CSS/Javascript experience

- JSTL, JSON, XML

- Knowledge of databases - DB2

- JQuery and AJAX experience is a plus

- Demonstrated experience with application performance optimization and driving performance efficiency across disparate technologies.

- Test driven development & Automated Unit Testing experience

- Continuous Integration experience

- Development environment experience should include Eclipse and/or SpringSource.

- Java certification is a plus
