Safety Officer is responsible for the overall safety and security of the Heritage group of schools and to promote a - safety culture - among teachers, students and administrative staff. The Safety Officer plays a critical role in creating a climate that promotes lawful behavior and enhances the welfare of students, faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities (Key expectations)

- Act as an advisor to the school Principals and Administration Heads to design, develop & monitor the school's safety & security policies & protocols.

- Liaison with administrative teams to develop familiarity and awareness of all safety & security policies and procedures of the schools

- Work with school administrative teams to ensure the safety and security protocols are set & implemented for the entire school campuses, including school buildings, classrooms, staff offices, pools, gymnasium, grounds and other play areas and ensure guards are appropriately positioned and performing their jobs as expected.

- Liaison with the principals, program leaders, coordinators/facilitators, teaching and non-teaching staff on proactively identifying security needs, addressing concerns and implementing solutions.

- Recommend policies, procedures and/or actions to school administration (e.g. supplies and equipment, schedules, practices, etc.) to provide information and/or direction that ensures efficient provision of campus security.

- Proactive analysis & monitor safety and security of students for outdoor expeditions & trips and provide sign offs for travel, boarding and stay.

- Investigate unusual incidents (e.g. unauthorized visitors, threats against students, possible violations of school policy, etc.) for assisting law enforcement personnel, developing information necessary to determine appropriate action, and/or provide documentation for future reference.

- Work with school administrative team to periodically monitor a variety of school environments (e.g. rest rooms, grounds, auditorium, library, cafeteria, parking lots, etc.) to ensure the safety and welfare.

- Analyze information and situations regarding activities that may be in violation of schools safety and security policies and/or an indication of any violation activity to determine immediate actions and/or making recommendations to ensure safety of students, staff and the public.

- Maintain a variety of information, files and records (e.g. schedules, investigations, guidelines, etc.) to ensure the availability of information for future reference and/or audit for compliance to established policies, guidelines and rules promulgated by various regulatory bodies.

- Prepare a variety of documents (e.g. incident reports, security logs, memos, letters, procedures, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.

- Train all security personnel of the schools to meet the safety and security standards and to make them aware of the school's security and safety policies.

- Liaison with the administration head/team to ensure that the school fire alarm system and fire extinguishers are well maintained. Reporting fire incidents to the civil defense and assisting with school fire drill process.

Required Experience and Skills

- Minimum 5 years of experience in managing & monitoring security & safety post having served in armed or paramilitary forces.

- Demonstrated initiative and proactive approach to security and safety.

- Strong knowledge of security and security systems including ability to provide accurate incident reports

- Excellent eye for detail and problem-solving skills

- Well-developed MS office skills

- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills
