Chief Risk Officer (Fintech - Bangalore)

Job description :

At least 15 years of work experience in the financial industry in credit, audit, governance, accounts/finance, and compliance with strong exposure towards risk management and risk. Rich NBFC risk experience preferred (or bank experience at a minimum).

Qualification - CA (Female preferred)

- Existing or past role as CRO is a plus.

- The Chief Risk Officer will primarily be responsible for implementing policies and procedures to minimize or manage all manner of risks. However, risk is a large topic, and therefore, there will not be a very specific job description. Position requires independently deep diving into all aspects of the company to identify and manage risk.

- This is managerial strategic role that aims to identify, document, and mitigate all business risk factors.

- While the role covers all aspects of risk and compliance, few key oversight factors include:

- Manage operational internal audit department.

- Monitor risks and close gaps related to Information Technology (IT) systems.

- Ensuring company is in compliance with all governmental regulations and directives and implementing changes in regulations. Agencies include RBI, SEBI, IT, GST, etc.

- Deter and detect employee and customer level frauds. Investigate and solve/close any cases and prepare report.

- Establishing a well-documented risk management framework. Must monitor procedures that might give rise to risk exposure

- Measuring the organization's risk appetite, and setting the amount of risk that the organization is able and willing - to take on

- Provide senior management advice on risk issues in strategic decision making.

- Develop continuous monitoring and improvement. Setup "trigger-points" to raise risk event alarm.

- Conducting risk assurance and due diligence on behalf of the organization in the events of rating or grading exercises, mergers, acquisitions, business deals or partnerships, investments, etc. Assist the CFO in various due diligences as it pertains to risk.

- Creating a risk committee of managers from different departments, which will work to identify and mitigate enterprise level risks

- Must have outstanding communication and negotiation skills.

- Must be willing to travel to the branches at least 20% to assess and monitor operational risk factors.
