JOB DESCRIPTION: Chief Operating Officer

JOB PURPOSE

The Chief Operating Officer will work closely with the Director to draw up the business strategy for rapid proliferation, augment & strengthen the organization. The person will direct, administer and coordinate the operational activities of the organization in accordance with policies, goals and objectives. Lead and direct the following functions and/or business units: Operations, Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Development, Technical & Program Planning and Marketing & Communication. Work closely with the Director to develop the organization's goals and policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities

- Lead the organization's annual business planning and goal setting in line with the overall business strategy.

- Be responsible for the P&L of the organization.

- Direct and assist the development and execution of various marketing plans in accordance with business strategy. Continuously evaluate performance and evolve these plans for future.

- Extensively look for opportunities to grow the operations geographically in India and abroad and evaluate opportunities to launch new sports ventures in line the overall Business Strategy.

- Develop and build relationship with technical partners, school administrators, parents participants and other stakeholders.

- Measure and report on operational performance and develop plans to improve relevant key performance indicators.

- Update the Director on all aspect of the organization on a regular basis.

- Drive the commercial efforts of the company w.r.t sponsorships and fund raising efforts

Other Key Responsibilities

- Direct the development and installation of procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow and thereby solidify management control and direction of the enterprise.

- Develop and establish operating policies consistent with the organization's broad policies & objectives and ensure their adequate execution. Appraise and evaluate the results of the academy.

- Direct the development and establishment of adequate and equitable personnel policies throughout the organization, including compensation policies and employee benefit plans. Ensure the interests and welfare of employees as individuals are preserved and protected.

- Attend staff development meetings, clinics and other professional activities to improve employee performance.

- Represent the values of the academy and maintains appropriate conduct towards participants, officials and spectators.

- Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities.

- Develop and implement services to support the growth and development o the academy participants.

- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Director.

OUR CURRENT STRATEGIC PRIORITIES

- Lead the growth and expansion of the academy operations in India and abroad.

- Drive the operation of the organization and responsible for achievement of outcomes including financial goals.

- Lead all the functions & business units to accomplish short term and long- term business goals.

- Develop the appropriate programs for different segments and adopt measures to increase the participation of youth, configuring events, sponsorship and merchandising

JOB SPECIFICATION

- Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment and deal with ambiguity on a day-to-day basis.

- Minimum 8 years of experience in managing the Business Development, P&L, Sales, Strategic planning and Operations.

- Must have an experience in managing relatively large teams across multiple discipline.

- Demonstrated experience in planning with ability to analyze and anticipate situations, define problems and objectives, recognize alternatives and formulate solutions.

- Excellent leadership skills and abilities to resolve diverse problems, to understand the importance of structure, organization, resource management and to complete critical tasks in a timely manner.

- Management degree from a Tier 1 institute will be considered an added advantage.

- Experience of executing grass root sports activities will be a preference.
