Chief Operating Officer role

As Chief Operating Officer, the principal responsibilities of this role will entail the following:

1. Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving the vision and operations strategy to achieve revenue & profitability objectives

2. Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth, ensuring organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating plan execution

3. Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement and productivity improvement

4. Drive cost efficiencies in every area of operations to achieve best in class cost structure for the stores

5. Aggressively manage capital investment and expenses to ensure the company achieves investor targets relative to growth and profitability

6. Monitor performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting

7. Adhere to company, statutory and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking corrective actions when necessary

8. Collaborate with the buying and supply chain functions to create a synergistic plan that ensures assortment and availability that is in line with the evolving customer needs

9. Build a highly inclusive culture, ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met

10. Build a capable operations organization that is enabled to scale to cater to the ambitious expansion plans

11. Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention of employees

12. Directly oversee operations, HR, commercial, marketing, market expansion and projects teams

Knowledge / Education :

- Post-graduation from a premium B-school.

- Must have 15-20 years P&L responsibility with progressive growth in revenue and bottom-line

- Managed a fairly large team that is spread across multiple geographies

- Managed diverse functions or has had cross functional experience
