Chief Operating Officer - Microfinance - IIM

We have COO role with one our microfinance client based at south India.

Summary of Responsibilities :

- Develop a strategic plan for operations to achieve operational goals like outreach, Loan outstanding, revenue, profitability, and portfolio performance while understanding risks and opportunities in each strategy;

- Continually assess areas of geographical strengths and weakness and dynamically shift assets accordingly;

- Prepare strategic plans to develop new markets;

- Be a core member of the executive management team and Prepare quarterly, half- yearly and quarterly business plans; review periodically and update other members of executive management on progress;

- Coordinate with Risk team to be aware of risks to companies operations and develop plans to mitigate;

- Develop and design new products and ensure their smooth release to market;

- Oversee preparation of standard operating procedures/ manuals for all aspects of operations and ensure that all employees follow the SOP.

- Evaluate performance of executives for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining company's objectives;

- Represent the company at the appropriate business forums;

- Lead and motivate a large team spread across a wide geography;

- Implement audit findings and adopt measures to continuously improve operational efficiency

Skills/qualifications/experience:

- Candidate must have experience in providing strategic leadership for an organization;

- Experience in a NBFC is a material advantage though relevant experience at a venture with similar operational goals such as, FMCG or telecom will be considered;

- Experience in strategic business planning and execution, with a solid track record of managing successful long term business operations;

- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures;

- Experience in formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures for operations;

- Ability to communicate and interact with peers and team members and set an example;

- Ideal candidate would share the belief that market based approaches can foster sustainable development;

- Ability to motivate teams and inter personal skills to deal with internal and external agencies

- Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel
