E2E is a Bangalore headquartered company providing system integration, design and EPC services to the railway industry across several international markets. E2E aspires to replicate India’s success in the global IT services industry in the railway technology services sector. The Company has a two-fold medium term strategy:

i. Build the appropriate commercial/operational/IT strategy and systems to support its strong business growth and pipeline, and

ii. Develop the Company into an attractive strategic asset for potential acquirers

To achieve these objectives, the Company will need to complement its technical and business developments capabilities with outstanding capabilities in customer focus, operational excellence, MIS and finance.

E2E aspires to become, not only a leading railway technical services organizations, but also one of the most ‘intelligently’ managed businesses. Towards this goal, the Company is in the process of conceiving a cross functional Management Intelligence Program (MIP) which would aid decision making and performance measurement.

Roles and Responsibilities of the COO

- This role provides leadership and strategic management of business operations to achieve set efficiency and cost objectives. The overall focus is to grow the customer base, profit margins and ensure operational effectiveness while driving the implementation of policies and standards that align with the Company’s vision and business philosophy.

- The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for managing all hands-on operational aspects of the company with the exception of the Commercial and Business Development functions

- The COO also supervises all operational managers/general managers and staff working within the operational functions of the organization and has primary responsibility for developing the talent pool

Key Responsibilities:

Business performance

- Develop and align operational objectives with the vision and long-term strategies of the Company

- Convert the business plans into robust operating plans

- Deliver on agreed performance metrics to ensure customer commitments are met within estimate costs and time frames

- Put adequate operational systems and controls in place to ensure proper monitoring of the company’s performance against plans and budget

- Introduce relevant ERP system to enhance reporting, analysis, productivity and customer focus

- Review key metrics with the management team and Board periodically

Operations Management

- Ensure effective implementation of the company’s business strategies, growth plans and budgets in support of the long-term business direction

- Ensure that company operations and performance culture comply with approved financial, business and risk management objectives as well as applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

- Ensure proper adherence to the organization’s health & safety policies across all functional units.

- Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operations of the company.

- Communicating with the CEO to ensure he remains fully informed of all significant operating issues.

- Monitor and direct members of the leadership team to effectively deliver on respective functional programmes, achieve set targets and improve overall performance.

Organization Development

- Establish the culture of the company and embed the values

- Motivate and lead a high performance management team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the executive team not currently in place; provide mentoring to team members

- Build relationships between the operations and other functions to ensure business units receive adequate operational support

- Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.

- Facilitate resolution of high-priority issues between departments.

External Responsibilities

- Represent the firm with clients, investors, and business partners and acts as the organization’s ambassador and spokesman in matters involving external stakeholders in the absence of the CEO

Candidate Profile

- 12 - 15 years of post-qualification work experience of which 5 years must have been at a Head of Operations or Technical level in a Design, Engineering, Technology or Construction business environment

- A primary degree in Engineering or a professional CA qualification would be preferred. Post graduate MBA would be an added advantage

- Should have preferably introduced and established processes and systems in a business that is scaling up

- Willing to work in a company which has a strong entrepreneurial ethos

- Would prefer someone who has worked with global client accounts

- The role is based in Bangalore, but would require domestic and international travel

- Role expects a high level of customer centricity, process discipline, commercial control and
organization building.

Compensation:

At par with industry standards and would include performance based Employee stock options
