Chief Procurement Officer

Commodities strategies:

- Creating, getting internal approvals, and executing procurement strategies.

- Work in close coordination with production, quality assurance and finance teams to ensure smooth flow of materials.

- Evolve a network of brokers, trade intermediates, aggregators and direct purchases from farms and manufacturers.

- Create Hedging and forward buying mechanisms, competitive biddings, long-term procurement contracts for services, spares, fuel and packaging materials. Ensuring good mix of current and forward buying to minimise materials' costs, optimize working capital and space requirements

- Develop standard specifications, standardize purchase procedures and delivery/ acceptance procedures in line with best market standards and business requirements.

- Create, get approved and implement standard terms of business for all materials..

- Create and implement a model to measure purchase efficiencies and costs savings on ongoing basis. Market intelligence & forecasting Keep abreast thru market intelligence formal & informal sources. Set up mechanism for regular receipt of data/ news, analysis of availability, prices, crop trends, weather condition, trade and government forecasts and production estimates, government support prices, import/ export policies, overseas developments impacting company's raw materials availability and prices.

- Forecast future prices and availability on ongoing basis.

- Alerting on any impending risks of availability or prices and helping the business to be proactive.

Trade relations:

- Creating an environment of mutual trust, reliability and growing together.

- Develop and maintains set of approved vendors.

- Agreeing and standardizing trade equitable terms.

Legal:

- tracking government policies and rules on procurement and stocking norms of agri commodities and ensuring compliance all the time

- Enforcing contractual obligations and settlements in case of any defaults.

Budgeting and stock profits:

- Freezing the procurement budget and prices and to do periodic updating.

- Facilitate that the supplier's bills are always cleared on time as per contracts.
