Direction for new and existing facilities and services:
- Direct the practice of quality care according to standards and benchmarks set by the organization, licensing boards and funding agencies.
- Perform due diligence in matters related to clinical practice in full compliance of the Medical Licensing Board and the Business and Professions Code.
- Actively participate in the formulation and evaluation of goals and objectives for the organization from a medical standpoint.
- Establish systems of accountability for the function, to include productivity benchmarks, performance measures and controls for clinical quality assurance.
- Formulate clinical protocols in a manner that is easily understood, practical and can be followed by all clinical employees.
- Direct, monitor and evaluate programs, revising and adapting as necessary or appropriate.
- Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to provide direction regarding all clinical issues related to patient care.
- Provides overall direction to continuing medical education, training, and support for health care personnel.
- Provide additional assistance within and outside of the clinical arena, as requested and/or as appropriate, to ensure the ongoing success of the organization.
- Serve as a primary advisor to the executive team on case management and clinical management regarding health and safety issues.
Compliance and continuous improvement:
- Ensure medical services and operations, and clinical laboratory operations are in compliance with all applicable regulatory and licensing agencies.
- Assess all matters of clinical compliance and provide timely recommendations for corrective action and quality improvement.
- Provide guidance in formulation and/or revision of medical programs/ clinical services policies and protocols.
- Ensure triggering of MDTs for any unusually long staying ICUs/unexpected clinical complications/grievances from patient family etc.
- Lead all internal medical audits, RCAs of medico legal nature & maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Clinical training programs:
- Develop and oversee comprehensive clinical training programs for service providers to assure high quality consumer services.
- Ensure hands-on training of new and developing clinical practices based on changes in regulatory or best practices.
- Participate in clinical problem-solving workshops, including but not limited to psychotropic medication review team, behavior management review team, and multidisciplinary clinics.
- Ensure proper induction of all doctors at the time of initial joining.
- Ensure all doctors are well groomed and dressed as per institutional norms
Clinical practice:
- Provide direct clinical medical services in the area of board certified (or board eligible) medical specialty.
Administrative functions:
- Participate in the recruitment of qualified clinical employees including interviewing and recommendation for hire.
- Monitor and support the new-hire orientation process to ensure consistency in training among all clinical providers.
- Development of standards and qualifications for medical personnel.
- Provide vision and approval of medical practice, procedures and policies.
- Responsible for the credentialing and privileging of the medical staff; serve as the Chair of the Credentialing Committee.
- Keep abreast of the Local Govt. Licensing Authority regulations and advise the management team on necessary changes.
- Complete the Health Care Plan for annual grants, establishing goals and criteria for clinical projects. (wherever applicable)
- Provide clinical guidance and regularly report on clinical activities at the Board of Directors meetings.
- Perform periodic reviews of practice management functions.
- Responsible for annual/ bi-annual performance review of Heads of Departments (and of Consultants in absence of HOD).
- Serve as a liaison between medical employees and administration.
Committees and involvement in decision making :
- Chair Care Provider meetings and collaborate with Clinical Services Managers for clinical meetings.
- Support medical decision-making, as requested or prudent.
- Participate as a cooperative, responsive, respectful and responsible member of the organizations clinical management team and other work committees as follows-
- Pharmacy Therapeutic Committee
- Mortality and Morbidity committee
- Credentialing and Privileging Committee
- Apex Quality Committee, and any other committees as may be required by the unit.
Industry networking:
- Develop relationships with hospitals and specialty providers for referrals and for provision of inpatient care, seek available medical resources, and secure high quality medical access for patients.
Education: MBBS is must
Experience - 12-15 years of experience in Administration role
Language Preference - Must understand and speak Malyalam
