Automation:

1) Support automation of various processes within Finance by developing logical queries on the system.

2) Support the end-to-end automation needs within Finance team including collating the requirement from the Users in Finance, understand the requirement and help preparing the Business requirement document, support UAT and test the end results in the production.

3) Involved in the preparation of the Functional specification document with the help of process owner by understanding the accounting requirement and adding the technical expectation to be developed in the system.

4) Coordinate the automation requirement within finance team and provide inputs to the IT dept. as Business analyst for development and support the UAT activities in test and production environment on behalf of the User dept. within Finance team.

5) Reviewing BRD and providing relevant inputs from finance side and ensuring that UAT is done in

defined timelines enabling product launch in due time course.

6) Creating test cases from finance side to perform UAT for new product launch and new enhancement.

7) UAT testing for accounting entry of new product launch and new enhancement.

8) Mapping of LifeAsia and GroupAsia chart of Accounts and monitoring the Trial Balance difference and Balance error.

9) Monitoring of all the accounts of LifeAsia and GroupAsia during roll over activities.

10) Support tracking the automation status of various projects on behalf of Finance with IT.

Governance:

1) Revenue Accounting Reconciliation.

- Follow the process of BAU control reconciliations, month-end & post month end activities in Revenue Accounting & Reconciliations.

- There should not be any recon open items more than 90 days & items above 90 days to be closed.

- There should be proper analysis and reasoning for the items open in the reconciliation.

- Analytical review of Revenue accounts and month on month variance account analysis

2) Good governance of Policy admin system (i.e. Life Asia and Group Asia) & Stakeholder management.

- Finding all the issues that occur while performing B.A.U. activities in Group Asia & Life Asia and highlighting the same to IT for resolution.

- Zero tolerance for revenue leakages.

- Managing stakeholders inclusive but not limited to - Sales Project Team, Operations, etc.

- Timely reconciliation of ITD account balances between Source system and Accounting system and resolving the gaps, if any.

- Ageing and Reconciliation of all Policyholders Liabilities Balance sheet accounts

- Monitoring of the Policyholders Debit balance MIS on weekly basis and highlighting the aged old cases to Senior management.

- Reconciliation of all monthly Death claim GL along with Claims MIS received from Claims team and resolving IT and operational gaps, if any.

- Preparation of Monthly Governance Dashboard and working on the finance actionables and clearing the same on monthly basis.

3) Process Control, Documentation of SOPs & maintenance of timelines

- Maintaining proper SOPs for process control for Revenue Accounting - Premium, RI and claims monitoring.

- Ensuring effectiveness of RCMs for Revenue Accounting.

- Effective management of work within timelines

4) Ad- hoc Reconciliation & Statutory & Regulatory Reporting:

- Facilitating and closure of ad-hoc reconciliation, Policy admin database, etc.

- Completion of Statutory Reports,

- Completion of Regulatory Reports

5) Managing Statutory & Internal Audit, IFC, IRDA and resolution of Audit queries:

- Providing required data to the auditors for conducting audit.

- Closure of all audit requirements.

- Resolution of audit queries.

6) Facilitating in the automation of Revenue Activities.

- Automation of revenue month end activities.

- Automation of Post month end & B.A.U. Activities.

Required qualifications and experience:

1. Qualification: B com graduate / Postgraduate in finance & Accountancy; Diploma in Computer science / CA with 5 years of experience in Insurance industry

2. 10+ years in Life Insurance industry with relevant experience in Revenue / Technical accounting

3. Good knowledge on understanding of Finance and Accounts and related accounting systems.

4. Good knowledge of relevant IRDA regulations and INDAS.

5. Good at technical knowledge in SQL / Java / MS access language

6. Good Communication skills and able to convince the counterpart within Finance and IT team

7. Excellent Analytical skills/ Logical Skills with eye for details

8. Quick learner with an ability to work in high pressure environment with challenging deadlines.

Knowledge and skills desired:

- Knowledge of Life Insurance process i.e. Premium, commission, claim cycle.

- 10 + years years' experience in Business analyst role in Financial Services Industry would be an advantage and managed technical accounting profile.

- Reasonable command on Power point- Must know built-up & formatting of PPTs

- Project management skills would be an added advantage
