Position : Chief Information Officer (CIO)

The CIO will be responsible for managing all the Business Applications of in accordance with policies and procedures. He will be responsible for overseeing the application inventory, new applications, critical support mechanism for select applications, security compliance and sharing of best practices.

Current Profile:

- Has developed an IT Applications Strategy

- Has zero-low IT baseline spend (Organization/Applications)

- Relies heavily on consulting resources for conceptualization, execution

- Hyperion (Consolidation, Planning, Forecasting) Implemented over the past 6 months

- Fragile Support (Consultant Dependent)

Requirement:

- Deliver A Best In Class ERP, matched to our Processes (We will need to Augment Select processes From Current)

- Implement within 6 months across group (all entities - except JVs that we do not control)

- Support Implementation thru' process fit outs, scope negotiation between end-users & consultants

- Keep Consultants honest on Scope, Execution, Keep End Users Informed on What Is Possible, Prioritisation

- Optimize (Application Bolt Ons - Tolling Solution, Hyperion, Document Management)

- Kick On to optimize existing applications, introduce new applications, infrastructure

Responsibilities

Application:

- Ensure IT Policy/Audit compliance of all Business systems Application .

- Align IT application plans with business strategy and direction

- Develop and manage IT Application budgets

- Plan and implement IT business systems effectively, on time and within budget.

- Lead project management for select Applications Projects

- ERP

- Collaboration Tools

- Spend Mart

- Business Intelligence

- Tolling Solutions

- Keep abreast of IT application trends, recommend appropriate business solutions

- Share global best practices & drive standardization

- Application Security, Enterprise Change Control

Infrastructure:

- Manage and control standard hardware and software platform of file serves, database servers, application servers, lotus and web servers ( eg Windows 2003 & AD experience )

- Develop performance metrics on key applications , measure these on a periodic basis and also provide leadership around tools to help measure these metrics –( SLA management )

- Research, explore and support technical solutions for reductions in infrastructure and communication costs ( Six & Non-Six Sigma projects )

Security :

- Good understanding of Threat Management Concepts: What is meant by the following terms: Threat, Threat Agent, Vulnerability, Event and Event Costs

- Able to articulate these four options: People, Process, Policy, Product and how to give a balanced scorecard view on these

- Ability to apply concepts related to anti-virus, anti-spyware and malicious code and provide guidance to users on proper handling and incident management

- Understand and apply IT Control Standards to daily work, and counsel others on their application and interpretation ( DRP / Back Ups / Internal Control Framework )

- Knowledge of fundamental network security techniques: Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Gateways, and Servers

Qualification and Experience

- Minimum BSc in computer Science or Management Information Systems or Business Studies plus related work experience

- 15 yrs to 18 yrs experience (Minimum 8 years of IT related experiences in end-user computing environment, of which, 3years in management position)

- Strong knowledge of IT project implementation and system development methodologies

- Strong project management skills and proven track record of implementing and managing medium to large scale ERP, Decision support and other Business Application
Projects

Key competencies

- JDE/SAP/Oracle: Techno-functional knowledge in at least 2 modules of Leading ERP. Understand the ERP standards/fundamentals. Skill set to provide 2nd & 3rdnd level support in ERP. Knowledge of setting up the ERP systems, isolation of issues in ERP and writes reports using ERP tools. Should be able to develop/Train and provide required guideline to the support team.

- Database: Understand the ERP table structure. Conversant with SQL database and writing complex queries.

- Interface: Clearly understand the interfaces between the different ERP modules. Concepts of building interface with an ERP to third party Application.

Other Application: Skill set to quickly understand and manage third party application software/s. Develop adequate knowledge and skill set to manage Omni flow software.
