Responsibilities :
- The candidate must be able operate in a dynamic, changing, and challenging environment.
- The candidate shall carry out the proper coordination, management and implementation of comprehensive training policies in industrial, occupational and environmental safety.
- The candidate shall ensure implementation of internal health and safety policies, standards, and guidelines.
- The candidate ensure the proper health and safety oversight of multiple contractors conducting construction and operations commissioning work at the site(s).
- The candidate shall prompt respond to reported incidents in order to evaluate current safety practices. The candidate will enable line management create a safe and hazard free working environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Influencing, advising, and coaching line management on safety requirements related to work.
- Staying aware of and ensuring compliance to the safety rules and regulations of government - including federal, state and local level.
- Ensuring compliance to internal health and safety policies, standands, guidelines, and other requirements.
- Working with line management, ensure effective and comprehensive implementation of the internal Contractor Safety Management standard.
- Working with line operations, ensure Process Safety Management (PSM) is implemented throughout the life cycle of the construction and commissioning project(s) following internal standards and guidance.
- Conducting job hazards analysis or equivalent risk assessments to ensure safe work.
- Conducting field inspections and safety audits in order ensure the compliance with all health and safety requirements.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining of employee and contractor training programs.
- Establishing and maintaining safety and training records.
- Developing, updating, and managing workplace safety procedures, programs and policies.
- Applying best safety and health practices to site construction activities.
- Leading, planning and implementing safety organization work schedules, professionally developing the safety organization, and assigning duties to subordinates on a regular and ongoing basis.
- Participating in incident investigations.
- Prepare routine safety reports.
Work openly and collaboratively with the Corporate Safety organization.
Requirements :
Education, Training, and Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in safety engineering, safety management, occupational health/industrial hygiene or related field is imperative. One year Indian health and safety certification from a recognized and accredited institution. Wide experience and knowledge of environmental health and safety, in particular, construction safety and PSM, is required.
- Minimum 10 years professional health and safety work experience required - demonstrable work experience in the construction and construction safety safety field is required. Work experience in the oil and gas and chemical sectors also desirable.
- The candidate must have a valid driving license and a good driving record.
