Primary Responsibilities:

Strategy, Planning and Management

- Act as Chief Financial Officer and strategic business partner to senior executive leadership team.

- Assess and evaluate the financial performance of an organization regarding long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts. Provide insight and recommendations for both short-term and long-term growth plans of the organization.

- Identify, acquire, and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information. Evaluate departments and make suggestions for automating processes and increasing working efficiency.

- Communicate, engage, and interact with the Board of Directors, CEO, COO and Executive Leadership Team.

- Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the foundation's plan for growth and expansion.

- Select and engage consultants, auditors, and investors.

- Fundraising (Equity and Grants)

- Recruit, interview and hire finance, accounting and payroll staff as required.

- Participate in pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models.

- Recommend pricing strategies for Sahamati's services and eco system charges.

Financial Management, Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting

- Prepare and present annual and monthly financial budgeting reports, including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division and weekly cash flow by division. Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.

- Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations.

- Identify, develop, and execute analysis of business initiatives, and/or new service offerings.

- Manage financial planning and analysis department. Supervise creation of reports, software implementation and tools for budgeting and forecasting.

- Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures.

- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for funding through Grants, CSR foundations, investors, and the foundation's board of directors.

- Review all month-end closing activities, including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts and overhead cost allocation.

- Finance and Accounting Team Management

- Cash Management

- Financial Relations and Policies

- Engage the finance committee and/or board of directors to develop short-term and long-term plans, projections, and budgets.

- Represent the foundation to banks, financial partners, institutions, investors, public auditors, and officials.

- Timely reporting to tax authorities and various stakeholders (Funders)

- Manage utilization of funds as committed to the Funder

- Systematically monitor, analyze, and evaluate the performance of all activities and assist program staff in reporting the results to the Board, donors, and authorities.

- Any other duties as assigned

Must Have skills:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent certification

- Proven ability to communicate with and influence decisions of VP/CXO level leaders. Handling Investor relations with various stakeholders - Government bodies, Handling Grants, and individual sponsors.

- Fund Raise experience (Equity/Venture Debt)

- Experience in all the items mentioned in the primary responsibilities

- Strong interpersonal skills and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapts easily to change

- Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills, which allow for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting

- A keen focus on automation

- Strong understanding of Indian GAAP and other GAAPs.
