Chief Financial Officer - Manufacturing

We are recruiting for CFO with a manufacturing company based in Chennai.

Position: CFO

Reports to: CEO

Age: 50-52 years

Brief Job Description:

1. commercial: 

i. It is a commodity business; hence, dynamics of costs and prices are different from the business that are more branded or made-to-order 

ii. Hence, professional has to be commercially savvy; sugar being a regulated product, Government uses multiple levers (MSP and/or imports) to keep prices steady; so professional has to play with multiple business parameters to be able, in a manner of saying, report an MRP for this kind of product 

2. Accounting operations: 

i. Consequently, professional will have a big role in the control of operational costs 

ii. There will be a big team of ~ 100 accountants to assist in transactional accounting; his role would have a higher commercial content; 

iii. Supporting business decisions; and, from there are a clutch of businesses within the company; and each location work with its own efficiency

3. Project financing; in a manner of speaking, Company has nearly completed the majority of planned acquisitions; going forward, capacity would be expanded more often than fresh capacity acquired through M&A;

4. Investor relations; commensurate with what is expected of a publicly listed Company;

5. Briefing to Board; commensurate with what is expected of a publicly listed Company; in addition, a professional is expected to be - on top of- strategic issues and implications thereof; for instance, closure of less efficient operations; or geopolitical issues, like Cauvery Issue, affecting business fortunes etc
