CFO is primarily responsible for the overall financial strategy of the group companies, and is responsible for ensuring effective cost management and support to management in business decisions and enhancing shareholder value, effective financial controls and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and adherence to statutory compliance. The position also provides support for funds and investments management and additionally oversees the Internal Audit and the Corporate Procurement function for the organization

Strategic Financial Planning & Support :

- Participate in the development of the long-term plan for the Organisation as a member of the top team and

provide all the financial analysis and support required.

- Responsible for finance support and interventions for strategic and operating decisions with focus on Profitable Growth.

- Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, identifying monetary resources and developing action plans

- Participate in business reviews. Responsible for business evaluation, feasibility studies and financial due diligence to provide recommendations for financial investments to enable business planning & forecasting decisions

- Act as financial counsel to Business Heads and guide them on risk identification and mitigation

- Provide value added financial and management information to enable measurement of the business and decision making by Business heads/ senior management

- Evaluate all strategic partnerships/alliances and proposed partnerships to provide a financial perspective and profitability of partnership, revenue returns, to the Leadership team

- Ensure cash flow is compatible with company operations, by overseeing the day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal control activities of the organization

- Provide value added financial and management information to enable measurement of the business and decision making by senior management

- Lead the development and use of best-practice policies, practices, and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, cross team communications and workflow

- Identify and implement fund raising strategies in consultation with the Board and senior management, based on business requirements

Accounting & Taxation :

- Ensure monthly, quarterly, annual closure of books and accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting/MIS to all stakeholders (management, shareholders, lenders, regulators etc.)

- Ensure all statutory reporting requirements are complied with in time

- Responsible for all statutory compliance under direct & indirect tax laws

- Co-ordinate with external consultants for representation related to assessments with tax authorities

- Ensure compliance with Companies Act and Rules.

Budgeting and Financial Control :

- Initiate preparation of annual budgets as part of the overall planning process for the company and prepare annual budget in consultation with the MD and the Leadership team

- Institute and implement budgetary control processes in the company to enable control of costs, monitoring of profitability and planning of cash flows - devise and drive cost reduction initiatives

- Design and implement highest standard of corporate governance, and implement processes to improve internal control across accounting, financial reporting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and other processes impacting numbers in Financial Reporting to ensure that company assets are protected

- Recommend improvements to ensure the integrity of the company's financial information

- Serves as the custodian of all statutory and internal audits, as appropriate

- Responsible for financial reporting including disclosure of litigation, contingent liabilities and claims, going concern re validation, impairment of assets and intangibles, etc

Systems and Processes :

- Ensure creation of SOPs and SLAs for critical F&A processes

- Ensure data integrity and appropriate controls in IT system impacting financial processes.

- Driving automation of operational processes that will strengthen internal controls without slowing down the business growth

- Ensure diligent documentation, maintenance of updates on systems and reporting to management, as appropriate

- In all reporting, ensure accuracy of data and that prescribed formats have been maintained.

Team Management :

- Oversee the finance functions in the group companies and provide overall direction and guidance

- Ensure Finance & Accounting functions are appropriately staffed, and that team members have clarity on roles and performance expectations

- Regularly disseminate information to the team members, and conduct regular review meetings with them on performance tracking, issue resolution and knowledge sharing

- Support the team in stakeholder management and in handling any escalations

Others :

- Represent the company with the Regulator as required

- Build and maintain relationships with all investors and provide information as required

- Participate in Board Meetings and Board committees as assigned

- Handle all legal matters, relating to Finance & Accounts, as appropriate

Qualification & Experience :

- CA / MBA in Finance from a reputed Business School

- At least 15+ years of experience

- Previous experience as a finance head as well as corporate finance /FP&A is added advantage in a medium sized organization

- In depth knowledge and experience of Financial planning and analysis

- Knowledge of accounting standards and practices

- Knowledge of IRDA regulations from financial standpoint
