Job Description:
- The CFO will play a key role in developing, monitoring and evaluating overall corporate strategy with the CEO and other key managerial personnel with an emphasis on bottom-line performance, working-capital, liquidity and enhancing shareholder value.
- The financial insights provided by the CFO will enable the senior management team make more informed decisions about formulating and executing both long-term and short-term strategy.
- The CFO will interact and monitor all aspects of the company and will be treated as a trusted business advisor by the senior management team.
- The CFO will not only be expected to provide the executive team with key financial information, strategy suggestions and operational analytics, but will also be responsible for driving a culture of performance and accountability throughout the organization, expected to add value to daily business operation and report well-substantiated views to the senior management.
Financial Strategy :
- Provide financial insights to enable the management team to make better decisions about formulating and executing business strategy
- Establish, monitor and continuously improve internal control processes required to manage, improve and grow the business
- Anticipate and mitigate problems
Cash Flow Management :
- Responsible for day-to-day banking liaising, including but not limited to, handling fund based and non-fund based limits, negotiating the cost of finance etc.
- Manage financial capital; communicate capital requirements/ implications of business decisions to key managerial personnel
- Conduct meaningful proactive analysis to improve key business decisions focusing on management of working capital
- Arrange for debt and equity financing
- Grow equity value - increase gross profit and reduce debt
- Ensures efficient capital expenditures
- Invest funds
Financial Reporting :
- Issue timely and complete financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report, balance sheet etc.
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
- Provide for a system of management cost reports
- Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
Compliance :
- Ensure that the company is compliant with all regulations given that it is a public listed company traded on the Bombay Stock Exchange (Companies Act, SEBI etc.)
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
- Comply with local, state, and national government reporting requirements and tax filings
Risk Management :
- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
- Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
- Construct and monitor reliable control systems
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
- Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
- Report risk issues to the key managerial personnel
- Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
