ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

Parivar Seva Sanstha, a 45 years old result oriented professional NGO, headquartered in Defence Colony, New Delhi requires a CEO, to head its operations of quality social marketing of reproductive health care services and products in 15 states of India. This includes sustainable programmes:30 comprehensive Stree Clinics for women of all ages, with emphasis on reproductive health and marketing of a range of contraceptives and other RH products, using the existing channels of distribution. In addition, time bound projects with donor support, are implemented. Parivar Seva has also conceived the Management Institute of Population and Development, to cover wider development issues, such as women empowerment, ageing, poverty alleviation and migration.

Its Mission is to enhance the quality of life of men, women, adolescents and children by addressing the challenges in Health, Population and Development. The focus is on "having children by choice and not chance"

The person selected must have belief in the Mission of the organization and the desire to face the challenges in order to serve communities.

Parivar Seva's main asset is its excellent team of highly motivated 470 professionals, comprising of managers, doctors, paramedics, counsellors, sales and marketing personnel, community workers and support personnel. This is backed by well-established systems and processes to deliver quality services as well as meet various statutory compliances.

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Board, the CEO shall be responsible for steering the organization and help it to further improve its sustainability and emerge as a large front-tier non-profit in the area of health. The CEO will be result oriented, hands-on in providing strategic leadership and have proven abilities in satisfactorily meeting consumer needs, institution building, fund raising, credibility enhancement and developing, managing and fostering stakeholder relationships.

Key Job Responsibilities:

(1) Leadership and Programme Management:

(a) Overall responsibility for meeting set performance/ deliverable objectives, scaling up successful interventions, conceptualising innovative impact approaches in different areas such as: delivery of quality clinical services, social marketing of reproductive health products, social franchising, community-based programmes, and behaviour change communication.

(b) Managing a robust data collection and MIS system, monitoring and evaluating activities and measuring the impact assessment of different activities.

(c) Developing and monitoring programme budgets;

(d) Taking leadership and responsibility for managing resources engaged for programmes, with emphasis on team development and capacity building activities, as well as contributing to an encouraging, positive, flexible and professional, working environment.

(2) Communication, Collaboration and Partnership Development:

(a) Positioning, branding and promoting its services. products and the organisation to effectively reach its targeted audiences- the community as well as corporates and governments

(b) Establishing and maintaining partnerships and constructive dialogues with stakeholders across the country, comprising of civil society organisations, central/state governments, private sector and CSR philanthropies, donors, etc, with a view to enabling strategic collaborations to promote organisations work in health, with focus on reproductive health, including family planning

(c) Promote decentralised working at the unit/ branch levels, by empowering the local teams

(3) Generating Revenues through Programmes and Fundraising from Donors

(a) Generating a surplus for the organization so that funds are ploughed back into the organization for its objectives

(b) Increasing revenues in the clinics, by balancing free and paid services

(c) Setting affordable charges for the paid services and products, so that adequate revenues are generated, but price is not a constraint for the community availing the services.

(d) Mobilising institutional, corporate and individual donors and obtaining funds for initiating/ continuing different programmes and projects.

(4) Costs Management

Using cost effective approaches and frugally managing the funds of the organization, without compromising on quality of products or services- a culture, which has enabled the organization to survive and continue to successfully deliver quality services for years without any external funding, a rare distinction for an NGO of this nature and size.

(5) Integration and Convergence:

(a) Integrating the working of various programmes/ projects of the organization, with a view to improve efficiency and strengthen the outputs and encouraging integration of ideas and disciplines within the organization and among partners

(b) Introducing new concepts, ideas and technology to strengthen the programmes and work more effectively

(6) Research, Policy Development, and Capacity Building:

(a) Providing intellectual leadership on identified research priorities;

(b) Maintaining an active dialogue with partners and policy makers and contribute to bridging the gaps between research, policy, and practice.

(c) Working closely with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and other related ministries, such as Women and Child, Social Justice etc at central and state levels to improve focus, guidelines, policies, legal framework etc.

Financial, Statutory and Legal Compliances: Meeting all statutory / local compliances for the company and different activities , would be an integral part of all work

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification: Applicants should have a postgraduate degree, preferably in Management, Social Work, Hospital Management or Community Health.

Experience:

The person must have experience in a senior general management position in reputed organisation/s. Experience in service industries such as hospitals, hospitality or pharmaceutical company in consumer OTC products or FMCG required. Exposure to reproductive health would be an advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Must have proven skills to oversee different management functions such as operations, sales and marketing, medical, behaviour change communication, finance, HRD, administration, MIS, IT and legal.

(2) Interest and ability to work for improvement in women's health and face challenges in addressing population issues

(3) Skill to quickly acquire basic understanding of health and related determinants, with the ability to solve complex problems , guide the organisation and constantly evaluate working models, assess their impact, improve their working and bring in innovations

(4) Ability to manage and align multiple stakeholders and their expectations, including consumers, team members, associates, partners , donors and the Board.

(5) Comfort and willingness to travel extensively to visit far flung locations to support, monitor and build lasting relations

AGE PREFERENCE: 45 to 60 years
