The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), to be appointed by the President for a 3 year renewable contract, reporting to the Governing Body, will play a crucial role as leader of a professional team of managers and subject specialists, to ensure that all programme activities follow the organisations method to achieve the mission and vision of the organisation, reaching the target group of marginalized children and women. It is this professional team working in close cooperation, that is ultimately accountable for setting the most challenging targets, for formulating the strategic plan for delivering the ambition.

Over the next few years, the new leader will need to address the following priorities:

- Scale up

- Build on the culture of excellence

- Nurture the next level of leadership

- Live the organisations values

Experience :

- The CEO should be a person who has passion for working with marginalised communities someone who signs up to defy and define what is possible for women and children from low income families. Someone who is creative, energetic, gritty, and able to align the many constituents of the organisations ecosystem around a shared vision.

- The ideal individual is likely to have at least 5 years of experience, with demonstrable engagement. S/he must have led teams at the CXO level and managed diverse stakeholders.

- Excellent track record as a senior executive in a well known non- profit/national or international institution for at least 5 years Strong ability to know how to move and operate with credibility and success within environments with complex organizational dynamics

- Vision and strategic thinking abilities with fund raising capacity from national and international donors

- Inclusive leadership style and team building skills

- Excellent communication skills, fluency in English, Hindi and Bengali

- Minimum Masters level of education in any related discipline

Competencies :

- Strategic Orientation and leadership: the individual must have the ability to set an aspirational vision and align the organization around it. S/he must be able to establish a high performance culture that thrives on excellence, is outcome oriented, and resilient in the face of challenges.

- Execution excellence: the individual must be able to push for better and more at all times, a doer with the ability to focus on operations, processes, and analytics to deliver extraordinary results across the organization.

- Personal characteristics: the individual must possess an innate optimism, and be persistent to drive impact in the sector. S/he must be a good communicator, an engaging and collaborative leader, humble, intellectually independent, a passionate learner with - heart-, and the ability to connect with children, adolescents and women.

- Relationship builder: The individual should be able to manage the team across different geographies; as well as engage a diverse set of stakeholders - the Board, donors and the government.
