About Centre for Civil Society (CCS): CCS was founded in 1997. It is recognized as a leading voice for policies that promote individual choice and institutional accountability. It is ranked 81st, globally, among all think tanks. CCS was founded by Parth Shah who continues to run it as President. This position is to succeed Parth as the CEO and lead the organization. I. CCS Mission: We seek to promote choice, competition, and community-based policy reform. Through research, advocacy and outreach, the Centre is reinvigorating civil society and rightsizing political society. II. Major Functions: 1. The CEO will provide thought leadership to the organization. 2. Build an operationally self-reliant office with a strong talent bench and sound management systems. 3. Head and manage fundraising initiatives from individuals, corporations and donor institutions within and outside the country. 4. Provide leadership in developing strategic research initiatives for CCS. 5. Ensure effective brand management. 6. Represent CCS with partners in the not for profit sector, private sector, government, and the media. 7. Sustain a high-quality working relationship with the various Boards of CCS. III. Major Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Take responsibility for all aspects of running a successful team and an efficient office. 2. Ensure that CCS is financially self-sustaining and lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of fundraising targets and plans 3. Strengthen the brand recognition of CCS within the country and globally. Raise the organization's profile across all stakeholders specifically aiming to be the premier Think Tank in India and the - go-to- an organization for our audiences. 4. Ensure the effective preparation, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of CCS Strategic Plan to various stakeholders. 5. Ensure that CCS meets governance compliance requirements for Trusts, approved policies, procedures, and standards for audits, operational, financial, personnel and administrative systems, and outputs are implemented and monitored, including staff's Key Performance Indicators. 6. Monitor and provides a quarterly update to CCS Board on the achievements of the agreed work plan and activities undertaken and as required for reporting to the Trusts regulatory frameworks in India. IV. Required Qualifications and Experience: - A degree in management, business administration or marketing - At least 10 years of professional experience in a leadership role, with demonstrated success in managing teams and office operations as well as boards, donor engagement and relationship management for fundraising - Experience in working with (or for) the government will be useful - Demonstrated accomplishment in building, managing, and motivating teams.. - Technical proficiency or demonstrated experience or engagement in the field of Public Policy is a plus V. Required Skills and Competencies: - Demonstrated fund-raising skills and experience, with corporations, Individuals, donor institutions. - Proven record of being a - mentor leader- adept at using guiding/coaching/directing as require - Ability to develop ideas based on liberal principles (policy/programme/ advocacy) - Ability to inspire people through vision and personal example - Ability to work with accomplished subject matter experts in team and drive organizational agendas - Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to manage relationships with all stakeholders - internal and external - High-level negotiation as well as interpersonal and influencing skills and the capacity to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels in the business, not-for-profit, research, and political communities. - Media relation skills and networks at the highest levels of governments, not for profit and corporate sector - Recognized by the sector as an expert in public policy/research/ liberalism / free market - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Fluency in English and at least one Indian language. - Comfort with budgeting and financial management of the organization - Strong skills in project planning, financing, implementation, and evaluation. - Knowledge of governance, compliance requirements of the not-for-profit sector - Knowledge and experience of public policy is a distinct advantage. - Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating strategic plans. - Belief in diversity and ability to work with diverse thoughts, teams, groups - Ability to work with Millennial's / Gen Z - Openness to ideas, knowledge, and willingness to learn irrespective of the source of knowledge - Agility - quick to learn, adapt to changes in the environment and fast decision making
