CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER


We are looking to recruit a CEO for our prestigious Client into the Banking Sector for Kenya Location. The appointed CEO needs to provide leadership in order to ensure that the Bank achieves its Strategic Plan and business objectives.

The Bank is looking for an individual who can work collaboratively to create an environment that promotes staff commitment to the achievement of the corporate vision and strategy.

Designation : Chief Executive Officer(BANK)

Salary : 15000$ /pm Job

Location : KENYA

KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES :

- The Chief Executive Officer will report to the Board of Directors and will work closely with the Executive Director. The role's key responsibilities include the below:

- Ensures that the Bank achieves its Strategic Plan, business objectives and creates an environment that promotes staff commitment to the achievement of the corporate vision and strategy.

- Works to implement the strategy and orchestrate the focus on driving business growth to secure maximum profitability and generate attractive value for the Bank.

- Ensure cost control activities, monitors revenues and expenditures in assigned areas to assure sound financial control, assures effective and efficient use of budgeted funds, materials facilities and time.

- To achieve the Bank's objectives by researching opportunities and problems, recommend strategies, ensure consistent profitability in order to meet financial obligations, evaluate and report on Risk, Technical, Admin, and Financial Performance results.

- Re-emphasize accountabilities, Bank's objectives and priorities, integrating corporate efforts, monitoring and evaluating results.

- Maintain state of the art technology, benchmarking leading-edge practices, exploiting market channels, leading commitment to quality service, evaluating results on customer services, representing the Bank's major customers.

- Maintain a positive image of the Bank by maintaining relationships with local, international businesses, government regulatory authorities, media and the public; maintaining employee commitment to the Bank and enforcing ethical business practices.

- Ensure the preparation and submittal to the preliminary annual budget and assure that assigned areas of responsibility are performed within the approved budget.

- Establish work procedures, schedules and workflow to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

- Provide leadership and direction in the execution of short- and long-range plans and coordinate inter-department functional activities.

- Provides professional advice to the Board including financial conditions, current and future needs.

- Check the daily liquidity position of the Bank and take remedial measures including investment of surplus funds in consultation with the Board.

- Prepare and analyze a variety of studies, reports and related information to present to the Board for input. Assist in providing credible and agile leadership whilst maintaining a culture consistent with the Bank's values.

- Provide all relevant statistics, financial and operational inputs and important information for the Board relating to the following.

- Capital structure and its adequacy

- Comparison of Performance with annual budget and Strategic Plan

- Status relating to advances, NPAs, recoveries and Provisions

- Income and expenses

- Large exposure and Insider loans

- Audit, Risk and Compliance

- Frauds

- Any other duties assigned by the Board from time to time

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES :

The following qualifications, experience and capabilities will be required from the successful candidate :

- Bachelor's degree, preferably Post Graduate Banking qualification.

- Over 15-years working experience in the banking industry covering both retail and commercial banking, at least 10 of which should be in a senior executive leadership position.

- Experience managing a bank with large assets based


- Track record of attaining targets of business growth and profitability in the banking or financial services sector.

- Have an appreciation and operating knowledge of the regional financial services industry, market and global trends and challenges.

- Knowledge of bank operations, balance sheet structure, and IRFS requirements.

- Strong background in banking operations with credit experience.

- Experience managing a strong risk, compliance, internal audit and governance framework in line with legislation, regulatory requirements

- Expertise in managing strategic and operational risks, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place, and as appropriate, taking action to minimize any actual potential impact

- Has demonstrated experience driving bottom-line operating results using technology capabilities and infrastructure to create competitive advantage.

- Has redefined businesses through novel ideas such as building new capabilities, products, or business models, or expanding beyond the core, and is experienced with leading and institutionalizing.

- Experience dealing with key stakeholders outside the company, such as regulatory bodies, governmental agencies, industry groups etc. to gain support on key issues or create a favourable business environment.

- Experience working with others from different cultures.

- Experience developing an aggressive competitive commercial proposition whilst driving rationalization, standardization, and efficiencies across a group.

- Strong analytical skills and a high level of business and financial acumen, sound judgement & proven problem-solving skills.

- Proven values-based leadership and management skills.
