Chief Data Architect - Job Description

- Client is looking for a highly motivated Chief Data Architect to help to define and drive the direction of the team to develop a world-class Data Insights Platform that will help us develop highly data driven products and services.

- The role involves working on all stages of the data processing pipeline, from understanding to defining the data flows, driving design and implementation of the infrastructure & architecture as well as identifying and applying emerging trends in technology to build the system at a scale and responsiveness that enables effective business decisions.

What You'll Do :

- Lead Infrastructure Architecture Strategy : Own the design and implementation of the entire end-to-end data processing/reporting platform. Closely interact with engineering teams to define appropriate logging requirements, design scalable data processing mechanisms and find best ways to visualize the data and results to help make actionable business & product decisions.

- Ensure Business and Technology Alignment : Closely interact with Business Development and Product Management teams to clearly understand product goals and design/enhance Vuclip Data Insights Platform to support those goals.

- Help Lead the Business : Get clear understanding of business needs and the market we serve and apply that information to design a system that can actively derive data insights and bring them back to the product and business teams

- Technical Leadership & Talent Development : Evaluate and apply emerging trends in software tools & processes to improve quality and efficiencies. Hands-on design and development of framework components & be the mentor for other architects and technical managers

- Active Communication : You will have to Interact with senior management to provide regular updates on development plans, project status, etc. As the primary point of contact of the Insights Platform, coordinate with all internal and external stakeholders on current/future requirements and deliver world-class solutions.

- Your ability to understand Vuclip products flow data and synthesize them into easy to understand problem statements will allow us to respond quickly and efficiently to make changes and resolve problems in a timely manner

Qualifications :

- Proven track record on using & architecting highly scalable big-data platform with specific focus on Data Governance, Data Security, Data Architecture and Master Data Management processes

- 10+ years of experience in data warehouse architecture, application design, systems engineering, SDLC and integration

- Hands on experience working with large datasets/data warehouse systems within the following :

- ETL and big data processing tools such as Talend, Kafka, Storm, Spark, Greenplum, etc.

- Knowledge of large data distributed processing framework such as Hadoop

- Working knowledge of transactional databases such as MySQL, MySQL cluster, etc.

- Data Visualization tools such as Tableau

- Exposure to data mining and modeling tools and languages (R, Python, SAS, etc.) preferred

- Familiarity with machine learning concepts: regression and classification, clustering, etc. with the ability to architect systems to enable predictive modeling a big plus

- Math, Statistics or CS background. PhD degree (Preferred)

- Demonstrated skills in managing complex & distributed projects using Agile development methodologies

- Willingness to work with a geographically distributed team structure in an environment that will be extremely fast-paced and challenging. Able to perform well in the face of tight deadlines and tough technical and organizational challenges

- Excellent written and oral communication skills
