About the role:
As a Tester Chapter Lead, you will play a pivotal role in in hiring and developing the Testing capability, ensuring the team has a clear sense of purpose and goals, while building their mastery and autonomy. You will be a champion for new technologies, productivity tooling and new ways of leading.
Chapter Leads care for and nurture the growth of their chapter members to ensure they are inspired by a sense of purpose and are continually building their mastery and autonomy. Chapter Leads are not full-time managers, they are expected to balance work between being an Analyst in their cross-functional squad, as well as performing line management duties.
What will your day look like :
- Understand the Australia Retail & Commercial division strategy and collaborate with the leadership team to shape & define priorities and the required change management and communication strategies that integrate the needs of our Bankers and Customers and maximise business value
- Continuously develop Chapter expertise and Maintain best-in-class Chapter expertise and resources in order to deliver the right knowledge and skills to Squad
- Maintaining your own technical knowledge through learning and continuous improvement
- Overseeing, providing feedback, and developing Chapter members to help improve domain knowledge and better serve the Squads in which they work
- Discussing Chapter development progress and opportunities the leadership team
- Share knowledge and expertise within and outside of the Chapter
- Ensuring the "how" of the work performed by Chapter members is aligned to drive strategy
- Actively sharing knowledge and expertise across the wider change community in AR & C and with other Chapters
- Engaging Product Owners to ensure Squads have proper technical resourcing and functional expertise
- Sharing expertise with Squad members and working cross-functionally to advance the work of the Squad
- Actively creating and maintaining a positive culture within the Chapter based on Agile leadership behaviour
What will you bring?
The 'must have' knowledge, skill and experience (KSE) the role requires are:
- You have good leadership experience or qualities.
- Significant prior experience as a Automation and functional tester
- You are able to build and maintain relationships.
- Facilitate, communicate and negotiate with ease.
- An ability to challenge yourself and peers on the value that will be delivered to customers.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery and experience working in a cross-functional delivery team.
- Experience in complex, customer facing, high-volume high-availability systems (e.g. end customer facing mobile App or web Application).
- Great at presenting information through visual models, tools and techniques.
- Be able to work through complex business/ technical problems and determine the root cause of a problem.
- A desire to continuously learn new techniques / technologies and bring innovative ideas into the squad.
- A team player (there is a lot of collaboration!).

The 'good to have' knowledge, skill and experience (KSE) the role requires are:
- Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders to influence business outcomes
- Excellent organisational, stakeholder management and project management skills
- Skilled in verbal and written communications, with a relentless focus on ensuring communications are well delivered
- Previous experience of Scaled Agile practices and ways of working, including the use of tools such as Jira, Confluence etc
- Strong people leadership skills to build and grow a high performing team through effective coaching
