About the role:

Group Lead Environment is a mid-leadership role at Centum Foundation. The person will lead the Environment vertical and work towards its growth. S/he will lead all function of the vertical and responsible for it's P&L:

Business Development/Fund Raising

- Designing of appropriate solution/project/concept notes

- Work as a technical lead for the vertical

- Oversee project implementation - ensure its quality, timely implementation, compliances, audit and reporting requirements, addressing key bottlenecks.

Team building:

- The person is expected to graduate to the position of Head within 2-3 years and depending upon the growth of the vertical.

Ideal Candidate Profile (Essential Attributes):

Minimum 7 years of experience working in the area of Environment (Natural Resource Management, Bio- Diversity Conservation etc.) related field.

- A minimum of 3 years in consulting/fund raising/business development

- Should have MBA/Post Graduate from reputed institute/top institute and in the stream of Environment and related field.

- In-depth understanding and know-how of the topic.

- Proven ability to independently raise fund/do business development activities

- Excellent communication (speaking & writing) skills in English. Reading & speaking ability in Hindi

- Experience of preparing/writing winning proposals for CSRs

- Target oriented with proven track record of achieving business/fund raising targets

- Networking, partnership & collaboration skills with proven ability of having strategic partnership/s.

- Should be proficient in using Microsoft Office especially excel, power-point

- Good connects with CSR, philanthropic organizations, institutional donors, aggregators etc.

- Leadership skills with ability to establish short & long term goals for the business vertical

- Have led a team of professional. Team building skills with proven ability of nurturing & mentoring teams in the past.

- Dealing with complexity and ability to lay down clear road maps on the current operation and growth of the vertical

- Ability to build in best practices and innovative approach in work stream

- Understanding of funding pattern and trend in the industry

- Thought leadership - publications/articles

- Any other work assigned by the Head of Centum Foundation Strategy

Business Development (BD) - 70% | Key Responsibility Areas:

Strategy:

- Responsible for achievement of the BD target and its further growth

- Prepare and execute BD annual plan for the vertical - offerings, projects, fund raising targets, potential donors etc.

- Identify/prepare sector specific new solutions/offerings and strengthen the existing once

- Identify and get into strategic partnership with SME/partners along new solutions

- Periodically review and apply course correction to the BD strategy

BD outreach:

- Identify and list out prospective donors. Approach them for implementation projects along the area of education

- Expand BD outreach through market assessment and penetration

- End to end BD cycle - lead generation to closure

- Build and manage relationships with social sector clients - CSR, philanthropic organization, international agencies. Ensure upselling and cross selling

- Networking, partnership and collaboration

Team building and People Management:

- Build and manage a team of professionals involved in BD

- Hire and retain team members

- Keep the team motivated and aligned to the vision and target of the organization

Process management:

- Establish/upgrade the BD process and maintain the same for effective and efficient BD cycle and client management

- Work in coordination with other verticals, implementation team and key functions - Finance, HR, Procurement, Marketing Communication etc.

- Ensure all contractual obligation/compliance are timely met during client on-board/contract and closure of the project

Solutioning/Proposal Development:

- Write business proposals and presentations. This will be the core work. Budget to be prepared in consultation with operations/implementation team

- Developing sector specific solution with focus on value creation

BD related compliances:

- Lead the due-diligence activity required during the proposal submission/agreement finalization stage

- Coordinate with the support functions (Legal, Finance, Procurement etc.) for all Grant

- Agreement/Contract related work

Client management:

- Account management, client servicing, issue resolving, and course corrections.

Project Management - 20%:

- Conduct internal and external kick-off meetings to ensure project initiation

- Oversee project execution to ensure quality, timely execution and addressing any critical bottlenecks

- Provide technical guidance to the project implementation team as and when required

- Participate in key project review meetings held at the donor level

- Assist the Ops team in project team hiring and deployment

- Oversee adherence to all project related compliances

Thought leadership - 10%:

- Identify, participate and represent Centum Foundation in relevant CSR/networking forums

- Any other work assigned by the Head of Centum Foundation
