Title: Scrum Master

Business Line: Information Technology.

Based in: Hyderabad

Job Summary:

As an IT professional within CBRE Digital & Technology organization - you- ll play a key role in that mission, driving collaboration and improving the delivery of business solutions for CBRE

The Scrum Master will work on projects defined by Pulse product team. Within this context, the Scrum Master will be responsible for successfully executing projects prescribed by the 2019 roadmap, using Lean-Agile techniques and methods. Candidates are required to possess excellent knowledge and deep experience of agile delivery methods, as well as industry-recognized certification (Certified Scrum Master and/or SAFe certification).

Essential Functions of the Job:

- Successfully execute product release to agreed schedule, budget and scope using Agile methodologies (Lean, DevOps, Scrum)

- Exhibits the behaviors of an Agile Leader with an Agile Mindset

- Challenge the old norms of development in order to improve performance in the areas of quality, predictability, flow and velocity

- Facilitates Agile ceremonies such as the Daily Stand-up, Sprint grooming and planning, Product Demos, and Retrospection

- Support the Product Owner to manage the backlog and guide the team while facilitating a healthy intra-team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope

- Focus on ever-improving team dynamics and performance. Helps the team manage interpersonal conflicts, challenges, and opportunities for growth. Escalates people problems to management where necessary

- Communicates with management and outside stakeholders. Helps protect the team from uncontrolled injection of work

- Enables close cooperation across all roles and functions; addresses resource issues and deviation from Agile practices

- Applies Lean-Agile practices, such built-in quality, Kanban, continuous integration and continuous deployment

- Removes impediments so the team can focus on the work at hand and follow Agile practices

- Work within defined governance processes and Make the team autonomous and efficient

- Setup the right tools to manage the projects (Definition of Ready, Definition of Done, Burn Up or Burn Down Charts, satisfaction surveys- )

- Good experience in TFS

Analytical/Decision-Making Responsibilities:

- Proactively identifies risks and issues; and implement the most appropriate solution

- Possesses advanced analytical skills and problem-solving skills needed to manage multiple - often conflicting - demands on a project, simultaneously

- Applies superior business knowledge/understanding to manage and meet business and customer needs

- Identifies potential points of contention for missed deliverables; creates and implements strategy to mitigate shortfalls in timeline and budget

- Identifies unstated customer expectations

- Escalates to management/governance, as appropriate

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

- Experience of managing Agile projects and personal accountability for delivering projects to time and cost

- Expertise in Agile methodology, tools, techniques and templates

- Track record of customer focus, based on openness, trust and delivering on promises

- Experience establishing cloud-enabled platforms on Microsoft Azure, including implementing IaaS and PaaS capabilities focused on data management, storage and analytics

- Experience employing DevOps techniques, including continuous integration and continuous deployment

- Skills to manage one or more agile teams / projects simultaneously

- Knowledge and use of industry-standard project methods, tools and techniques (Kanban, velocity charts, control charts, burn-down metrics etc)

- Strong team working skills across client, supplier and geographically dispersed virtual teams

- Strong communication and inter-personal skills including negotiation

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing

- Demonstrates commitment to IT methodologies, processes and standards for project management / Agile methodology

Experience Required:

Must Have :


- 9+ years in a corporate IT environment

- 4+ years of experience in Scrum Master, Agile Lead or similar role

- Demonstrates understanding of scope, schedule and planning; understanding of time management, resource management cost management. Possesses good project management skills.

Nice to Have :

- Background in analytical software (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau)

- Knowledge of Azure native technologies (SQL, Data Factory. Data Lake).

- Knowledge of Automation Tools

Certification Requirements:

- Certified Scrum Master and/or SAFe-certified

- Project management certification is preferred (PMI/CAPM or PMP) [NICE to Have]

- Project Manager with 10+ years of industry experience

- Must have Experience of Scrum Master role for at least 3 years for software development team

- Must have strong knowledge of software development life cycle

- Must have strong experience of driving agile project management through sprint planning having user stories

- Must have Experience of developing various agile project management reports using tool such as JIRA or any other tool

- Must be able to guide the team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and propose changes/modifications in the existing processes/practices to bring in optimum performance, predictability in the project

- Must be able to assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and guide the team to attain higher maturity level at a pace suitable for the team and project needs

- Must be able to suggest ways to maintain product backlog in most efficient and effective manner

- Must be able to work in cross functional teams, understand dependencies, coordinate with all relevant team members to manage those dependencies and avoid any delays

- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Certifications such as PMP or Certified Scrum Master preferred

- Should have knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques in scrum approach such as Burndown technique, Retrospective formats, handling bugs etc.

Responsibilities :

- Managing relationships and communicating with the project sponsor, senior management and a wide range of project contributors. Identifies key barriers to a project's success and actively manages all mitigation activities.

- Ensure Agile and Continuous delivery methodology compliance and manage resolutions, reporting to management when necessary.

- Ensure the Scrum process and ceremonies are followed.

- Facilitate the team's Scrum ceremonies, i.e. Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective

- Ensure ceremonies are effective and productive

- Liaise with Product Owner and assist them in managing and grooming the product backlog

- Liaise with the Product Owner and the Business Analysts in order to ensure completeness and clarity of user stories and acceptance criteria

- Remove/Help to remove impediments to the team's progress

- Work with people outside of the team to resolve external dependencies and roadblocks that are blocking the team

- Promote visibility and transparency.

- Ensure that the Scrum team verifies against the Done Definition, ensure the Done Definition upholds Pinpoint's quality standards

- Coach/mentor team on the Agile Scrum methodology in order to constantly improve the Scrum team's standards of work

- Encourage teamwork within the Scrum team

- Guide individual team members on areas of improvements
