Summary: As the leader of the organization you are expected to interface with the BCP (Building and Construction Products) global engineering leaders to understand future needs and proactively plan for resources (both people and technology). There is an expectation that person in this role will drive a culture of safety, sustainability, innovation, information security and Quality within the BCP India team. This role is expected to collaborate and form partnership with other engineering organizations within Caterpillar and external engineering service providers (for example ARAI, GARC, GGS, AXIS, HCL, L&T etc.,) to meet customer needs. The person in this position is expected to plan and manage the departmental expense, including work that is outsourced. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: - Manage the engineering organization comprising of Design, Analysis and test engineers - Provide outstanding people leadership, drive career development, and acts as a mentor for a diverse multi-functional team - Interface with BCP Engineering leaders in India, UK, USA, Japan and China - Interface with external engineering service providers - Drive culture of Safety, Quality, Compliance and Innovation - Plan and manage departmental budget for BCP Engineering & Test Organization Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum - 12 years of progressive responsibilities - 3 to 5 years of supervisory/management experience Top Candidates Will Also Have: - Experience with working across organizational boundaries to solve complex issues - Proven team leadership skills - Strong written and oral communication skills in English as well as local Indian language - Strong cultural awareness of India and other BCP geographic locations.
