Experience and Skills :


- 5+ years of experience in category marketing and/or merchandizing

- Excellent critical thinking, curiosity, persistence, and the ability to arrive at solutions through data driven and structured approach

- Experience of working in large scale and complex online category marketing/ merchandizing management.

- Strong written, verbal, presentation and influencing skills

- Good academic background : Preferably MBA from top B schools

Role & Responsibilities :

Functional

You play a significant role in driving sales and creating a best-in-class customer experience through site and email content creation; data-quality, navigation, and traffic initiatives; data analysis; knowledge of your categories and their customers; and application of best merchandising and online marketing practices. You demonstrate a breadth and depth of knowledge in the following disciplines :

- You create best-of-breed, revenue-driving site and email content: relevant, timely, on-brand, and targeted to the right audience.

- You optimize our search and browse functionality to ensure that customers can find the products they want.

- You understand the needs of the customer in general and your category's customers in particular, and approach projects and problems from a customer perspective. You always start with the customer.

- You are knowledgeable and curious about the product line you represent.

- You understand and deploy the full range of merchandising vehicles available to you and know when each one is most appropriate to use.

- You use data, analysis, and best practices to drive your decisions.

- You create merchandising solutions that can scale not only to known, existing business needs, but also to future and even yet-to-be-identified use cases

Business

You have strong business acumen and successfully balance the best interests of your category, other internal stakeholders, and external partners with your ultimate responsibility to the customer. To this end, you have the following characteristics :

- Understanding and empathy for your category's customers and business objectives.

- You continually balance customer objectives with business objectives, advocating for the customer without sacrificing the needs of the business.

- You understand how to measure and influence the key business drivers for your category (for example, campaign, mass mail, personalization, app notifications, and top search metrics).

- You continually test different approaches to the content and artifacts you create and carefully analyse, act on, and share the results.

- You understand the benefits and limitations of the system you are working in and how to achieve optimal results in that system.
