Job Description - This is a category manager role to launch a new product portfolio for the business in the India market.

Client Details

Our client is a leading private label manufacturer of a large food portfolio in India. They are growing from strength to strength in Indian and international markets. They are launching their consumer brand in the Indian market now and would require to hire an able Category Manager who has managed NPD launches in their career.

Description

The category manager would report into the founder and be responsible to:

- Develop and implement the NPD strategies and plans for the go to market strategy and pan India launch

- Conduct market research and analyze consumer trends, competitor products, and pricing to identify opportunities and make informed decisions


- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate and maintain favourable terms, pricing, and contracts


- Monitor market dynamics, including consumer preferences, industry trends, and regulatory changes, and adjust category strategies accordingly


- Manage product assortment, including assortment planning, selection, and optimization


- Determine pricing strategies and manage price positioning to optimize sales and profitability


- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional plans to drive category sales and increase brand visibility


- Analyze sales data and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven recommendations


- Conduct regular performance reviews of products and suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards and customer expectations


- Stay updated on industry trends, new product developments, and emerging technologies relevant to the category


- Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams, including sales representatives and marketing managers, to ensure the successful execution of category strategies


Profile

The successful candidate should:

1. Have 7+ years of marketing and category experience and exposure to end to end NPD strategy

2. Be an MBA from a college of repute

3. Have an analytical and a entrepreneurial bent of mind
