Category Manager - Electronics - Teleshopping/E-Commerce
We have an urgent role with one of the biggest group for there E-Comm/Teleshopping Vertical at Gurgaon
Designation : Category Mgr - Electronics
Reporting to : Business Head
Functional Objective Of The Position :
- Responsible to understand how different channels affect product delivery to consumers. Understanding of how various teams in a company interact to deliver products and services and people skills for getting things done in a fast and efficient manner
Job Responsibilities :
Product Research & Development :
- Ensure to Visit market/exhibitions/trade fares, etc. to have clear understanding
- Remain updated on buying/selling rates in market with competitors
- Identify and explore new products launched in market
- Bench-marking with competitors
Competition Tracking :
- Keeping track of what other sellers are doing and act accordingly for business development
- Identifying which products/categories are selling more on other TV channels, e-commerce sites, etc.
- Benchmark their content/video quality, etc.
Product & Vendor Selection :
- Meet new vendors/manufacturers
- Identify the potential, expertise, strength and weaknesses of each vendor
- Select the product offered by vendors based on market research and competition mapping
- Discuss the packaging, labeling, etc. of each product
- Determine the pricing, positioning of products in each category (and also across categories) to develop an optimum portfolio of products which is selling well and commercially viable for the Company
- Negotiate the best possible price and terms of trade with the vendor
- Cross check the price with other vendors and choose the best vendor
- Sign contract with each vendor
Product Library/Category Expansion :
- Shoot 15 products every month across various categories
- Expand the product library to 35 products
- Replicate the hit products with bew designs/price, etc.
Quality Check :
- Check the quality of the product offered by vendor by washing, wearing, self-using, packaging etc. as the case may be
- Compare it with the quality offered by the competitors
- Share the quality checking parameters and reference samples with warehouse team
- Monthly review of MAP price of each product followed by revision in Value chain
- Weekly website review to check accuracy of all relevant listed products
Inventory Management :
- Check the sales trend of the product if available and forecast the demand
- Minimize stock out situations by expanding the product portfolio, developing alternate vendors wherever possible, continuously following up with the vendor for stock supply, etc.
- Keep regular track of stock levels
- Return the unsold inventory to vendor regularly in coordination with the warehouse team
- Sell off/scrap the inventory if and when required
Product Training :
- Ensure agents training at the call center before launch of new product
- Take feedback of the previously launched products from the agents
- Visit warehouse regularly to interact and take feedback on product from warehouse team
Vendor Payments :
- Ensure timely payment to vendors as agreed in ToT
- Analyze the value of sold stock, stock in transit, stock in hand, expected COD returns, etc. before remitting the payment to vendor
- Periodically reconcile the account of each vendor in coordination with the accounts team
MIS :
- Analyze Sales reports, GVA, NVA, Stock Report, etc.
- Work in close coordination with all the departments like SCM, Finance, Marketing, Operations, etc.
- Perform his/her duties honestly and maintain work ethics and discipline.
