Category Manager
Key Purpose of the Job :
- The role holder is responsible for driving revenue and profitability targets for the assigned product / business.
- Managing vendor relationships for effective planning, delivery and margins realization for the product, is key to the role holder.
- The role holder is responsible for managing interactions with cross-functional stakeholders (example: internal marketing / analytics team and external key channel partners / regional distributors for concerned products / business, in collaboration with the Sales team).
- The role holder is the point of contact for resolution of all escalated issues related to the concerned product / business.
Educational Qualification / Experience required :
- Graduate in any discipline (preferred engineering), with a full time MBA preferred (Sales and Marketing specialization)
- Experience of around 5 years in product management / sales function in Telecom (preferred) / IT / FMCG Distribution sector
- Should possess understanding of the sales, distribution and channel management process in the Telecom sector
- Should've an overview of internal backend processes like purchase, billing, and logistics.
- Should've worked closely with brand/vendor team, fair understanding of commercials, product life cycle, and market facing operations (discounts, campaigns, settlements etc)
- Should possess strong numerical and analytical skills
- Should possess good presentation and communication skills
- Should love exploring new technologies and get excited by technologies and wants to build career in E- Commerce
Key Responsibilities :
1. Responsible for achieving revenue targets (quarterly, annual) for the concerned product / business.
2. Achieve profitability targets (quarterly, annual) for the concerned product / business.
3. Manage relationships with vendor representatives of the concerned product / business (for example, vendor distribution manager, vendor category manager, vendor sales team).
4. Manage interactions with cross-functional stakeholders (example: internal marketing / analytics team and external key channel partners / regional distributors for concerned products / business, in collaboration with the Sales team).
5. Run program to promote respective products in connection with product and marketing team.
6. Responsible to grow vendor adoption of the E Commerce platform.
7. Responsible for resolution of escalated issues pertaining to the concerned product / business and for supervision of backend team
