Category Manager - D2C Personal Care (4-7 yrs)

Our client, a D2C personal care brand, based out in Gurugram is looking for a Category Manager. The ideal candidate would be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and strengthening the portfolio's position. They will be responsible for leading the brand planning process to develop brand strategy/action plans based on analysis & understanding of consumer needs.

Role & Responsibilities:

1) Portfolio planning - category / brand planning

- Establish, maintain and strengthen the portfolio's position

- Lead the brand planning process to develop brand strategy/action plans based on analysis & understanding of consumer needs and brand's vision in order to achieve company goals

- Environment scan to update on emerging opportunities, risk areas and amending plans as needed

- Developing strategy and implementation plans to drive long term growth by identifying relevant consumer need states and occupying the same through new brands

2) P&L delivery

- P&L responsibility for portfolio

- Develop annual budget for the portfolio, build sales forecast by liaising with sales team, develop annual plan including detailed activity calendar to deliver brand targets

- Drive optimum and effective resource allocation between activities to achieve the brand growth and brand health objectives

3) Lead communication development and execution

- Develop relevant and meaningful insights for the brands

- Lead and challenge advertising agency in developing strategies and communication

- Lead development, execution and evaluation of all advertising

4) Lead media strategy / planning process, media buys and execution of media plans

- Lead the media strategy and media planning process

- Lead the media deals and media innovations process and build in continuous improvements

- Ensure development, execution and evaluation of media plans

- Work with media agency and consultant to improve the media plan effectiveness and efficiency

5) Lead Innovation Development and Launch

- Lead the innovation work on the portfolio and brands

- Identify key existing gaps within current portfolio and brands and develop platforms for brand specific innovations

- Lead product development process and work with other departments for the same

- Launch new products that meet expectations & deliver business results

6) Lead research and analysis

- Lead relevant category and brand research for generating consumer insight / validating brand strategies

- Gather and analyze relevant information to make the best recommendations and confident decisions

- Interpret and evaluate information related to sales, P&L, promotional evaluation, competition, and qualitative / quantitative research

- Understand consumers, derive and leverage consumer insights to find solutions to brand issues

7) Manage Key Relationships

- Ensure alignment across stakeholders on all key projects

- Manage relationships across departments and partners to ensure seamless functioning

- Developing strategy and implementation plans to drive long term growth by identifying relevant consumer need states

8) Lead the PR activities for the portfolio

- Work with PR agency to develop brand specific PR plans

- Use PR as a multiplier to maximize the impact of marketing activities
