Category Head - Furniture - eCommerce

Category Head (home furnishings or furniture) with E-commerce company in Bangalore

This person will lead the business unit with responsibility for sourcing/buying, vendor management, planning, selection, pricing, marketing, and customer experience innovation. Responsible for driving the top and bottom line and managing all aspects of the category P&L. This role includes managing a team of vendor managers, sr. vendor managers and marketing manager.

Person will be responsible for managing the furniture or home furnishing category, building product roadmap, managing a team of people

Keys to success also include a strong interest in the furniture or home furnishing industry, the desire to create a unique and compelling customer experience, and a passion for retail.

Responsibilities:

- Ready knowledge of key suppliers and vendors in furniture / home furnishing space will be a plus

- Demonstrated ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems. In particular, identifying customer needs and inventing new ways to meet those needs.

- Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in the heat of battle.

- Communications and collaboration skills that enable you to earn trust up, down, and across the company

- Extreme attention to detail and willingness to roll up your sleeves

- Growth potential to lead much larger and more complex businesses

- Online experience preferred

- MBA Must (Preferrably Ivy Leagues/Tier 1 B-Schools )

Eligibility:

- 8+ years of relevant work experience

- Experience directly leading a team and managing their performance

- Experience with P&L responsibility

- Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development

- Some travel required
