Category Head - Furniture - eCommerce

We are hiring Category Manager for a eCommerce based furniture company based at Bangalore

Position : Category Manager - Furniture

Location : Bangalore

JD :

- Act as the business owner for his or her categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact our business (this entails owning forecasting, monitoring, understanding and reporting on the category, along with responsibility for driving strategic projects and promotions to achieve business objectives)

- Managing top line & bottom line sales numbers and complete P&L portfolio for the category.

- Developing sales & marketing strategies and procurement of vendor services while ensuring end to end category development.

- Developing both short-term and long-term category strategies based on deep understanding of consumer insights, category trends, competitive behaviour and sales performance.

- Own all aspects of day-to-day activities related to product/category launch, promotions & merchandising.

- Monitor the category targets, performance and take corrective actions.

- Checking availability of the competitive products and comparing the price and quality.

- Planning new range with no. of SKU's/pricing/inventory/timelines/P&L statement

- Will be responsible for new product search and increasing the no. of SKU's in the particular category.

- Arranging photos or photo-shoots of all the SKU, along with all the product descriptions and all other content and providing the same to support team.

- Follow up with the support team for getting products live and quality check of the images, product descriptions etc.

- Preparing deals and promotion of the products and arranging all the artwork needed for the same.

- Manage clearance pricing strategy.

- Develop and execute a weekly/monthly/quarterly calendar of campaigns, capitalizing on historical category knowledge, customer demand and seasonality

- Provide best practices for product merchandising on the website

- Assist in planning promo codes and sales for the category

Desired Skills & Experience :

- 4+ years of similar experience with proven track record of category development

- Must have excellent excel skills and analytic ability.

- Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment

- Proven analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are essential

- Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive results
