Category Head - Mumbai

- We are looking for a Category Head to manage a group or category of products for our company.

- You will have a number of responsibilities, all with a the objective of making the propositions of all our offering competitive and attractive to customers in order to drive the planned revenue and CM2 growth.

- This will include the spectrum of actions aimed at launch and scaling of brands under the category, right from consumer and category insights, need gap analysis, competitive eval, product design, innovation, formulation, sourcing, marketing and communication.

- Relationships with vendors and/or key internal team members and developing and enhancing deep category knowledge will also be part of your duties.

- This position requires experience and expertise in category in strategic and operational marketing, sharp brand and product management, developing online and offline communication strategy and plans, exceptional project management, high business acumen and bias for action for quick scaling up.

- Ogranization's obsession is with discovering white spaces, developing brand propsitions, followed by exceptionally rapid scaling up. The scaling up being sought is disruptive that sets new becnhmarks of key revenue milestones. The brand play is going to be digital first but embracing offline as soon as the opportunity is possible and sustainable.

- The role of the Category Head is to lead the business and build category sales on both own webstores, marketplaces as well as offline, at healthy EBITDA by working with and influencing cross-functional experts and leadership team to ensure efficient and effective execution of strategy and roadmap

Role :

- Creating and execute an action and result oriencted category vision and strategy.

- Develop strong working relationships with sourcing, tech, digital and marketplace teams.

- End to end management of product categories i.e. from supplier to customer.

- Complete brand management including brand cores, positioning, personality, proposition, pricing, name, logo, packaging, brand architecture

- Key categeory related policies and regulation and ensuring compliance with the same

- P&L owner for the group of categories managed.

- Team Management ; manage a team of Category Owners, Catalogue, and Vendor Acquisition resources. Develop and coach team.

- Strategic Management of portfolio of brands in the category - both seed and acquire to deliver on the business vision, mandate and financial goals.


- Develop and execute sustained brand communication across all media, including performance marketing, as well as social media campaigns with and without influencers, and digital assets & community development

- Vendor management ; vendor sourcing & management, vendor relationship management.

- Customer management ; Managing key customer relationships, developing multiple channels, optimizing omni channel sales- through mix of online and offline sales.

- Marketing ; Manages and optimizes marketing spends on the category group. Working closely with digital marketing team to optimize spends across different digital channels.

- Category Analytics: proficient in analytics to identify growth areas and execute

Desired Qualifications :

- 8 to 15 years of marketing, brand and category management experience in relevant categories at leading organisations, out of which atleast 3 years should be in D2C brands or digital first brands.

- Strong and demonstrated track record of delivering growth driving marketing and communication strategies and plans

- Exceptional project management skills involving thought leadership and influencing cross functional teams

- Team leadership that makes the team members grow substantially on the dint of accomplishment

- Strong affinity, knowledge and experience with digital media in particular and tech in general

- BIAS FOR ACTION, HUNGER FOR DISRUPTIVE GROWTH, ABILITY TO MANAGE AMBIGUITY, ENTREPRENEURIAL
