Research & Development - Category Flavor Manager

Oral Care is recruiting a Category Flavour Manager (CFM) who will be responsible for leading the development of high quality and value flavors across all Oral Care brands globally. The CFM will work in a close collaboration with our strategic flavor houses and be responsible for all aspects of the flavor portfolio including new theme creation, evolutions of existing themes, simplification and value improvement.

Expected Work :

The incumbent is also expected to appreciate processes of innovation and brand development and specifically understand the overarching role of flavor.

The incumbent will be responsible for providing internal expertise within Oral care on flavors. Specifically

- Knowledge of flavor (or fragrance) creation and development by understanding the magic of flavors.

- A creative mind in the space of flavors with high level of sensory acuity.

- Knowledge on flavor raw materials, quality and impact on the taste of the flavor.

- Develop understanding on consumer & brand (moments of truth, olfactive preferences by geography)

- Coordinate the final Flavor Brief sign off from R&D VP and GVBP after alignment between project team - TPL, PL, supply management

- Understanding on formulation base interaction with flavor, stability, etc.

- Develop a flavor simplification roadmap & ensure the flavor simplification programme is followed and sustained.

- Drive internal processes within and external regulations (Supply Chain, safety, etc.).

- Take responsibility to ensure areas such as action standards.

- The incumbent will derive an in-depth understanding of the role of flavor in driving consumer preference for Oral care brands like Smile/ Closeup/ Zendium/ Regenerate and to translate this into a flavor knowledge foundation in a form accessible to the brand and R&D teams.

- Collate inputs from different brands (Closeup, Smile, Zendium, Regenerate) and ensure the Flavor Strategy is defined and documented, both at the overall category level and for the individual brands.

- The incumbent will lead the Flavor Capability program as part of wider Flavor Capability (GFC, FWT, Fragrance MET and FrLT)

- Work with the Houses and procurement to continuously improve and maximize the cost effectiveness of established successful fragrances.

Experience & Skills :

- Overall years of experience should be at least 8 - 10 years of work experience in design and development of Flavors/ technical marketing of flavors.

- It is preferred if there is a technical training in fragrance

- Previous experience in flavor house, confectionery industry, Oral Care category with flavors experience.
