Opening for CAT Modeling (4-7 yrs)  I have an opportunity with one of my client who are leading provider of insurance, reinsurance, employment related advice and brokerage services.  Location : Mumbai  Position : AM/DM  Job Title : CAT Modeling (Individual Contributor)  Responsibilities :  - Collect, massage, maintain and analyse large sets of data as related to all the aspects of CAT R&D activities  - Work closely with researchers, developers, architects and business leaders to derive most value from the data  - Contribute to strategic decision making regarding the best way to leverage all the available data sources to advance our cat modeling and R&D efforts  - Play a key role in contributing to the development of Companies intellectual capital.  - Learn catastrophe modeling and catastrophe management techniques.   - Combine development knowledge with modeling knowledge to promote Companies business development.  - Define the scope, timeline and specifications of modeling projects/models. Take ownership of implementation.  Requirements :  - Proved ability to work with heterogeneous data sources and formats with strong expertise in at least one specific domain area of data (GIS data preferred)  - Extensive experience with common programming and software packages used for data analytics (R & Python strongly preferred)  - Intermediate level of knowledge with statistics and probabilities   - Ability to handle very large data sets and deep understanding of the implications on hardware requirements  - Ability to respond to changing priorities and manage time efficiently.   - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with positive work attitude.
