Location: Bangalore

The role will focus on Consumer Personal Accident portfolio modelling, catastrophe response and model investigations and operate within the Analytics Group of the CoE. In addition the role will provide a level of training to new hires and less experienced modellers. It will report into the NY Consumer Lines Home Office Head of Cat Risk Management and matrix into a local Cat Portfolio Team Leader.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing support and analytics to Consumer Corporate and Regional Catastrophe Management teams

- Modelling Personal Accident exposures for all perils using multiple vendor models: AIR or RMS

- Producing detailed exposure data sets from highly aggregated data, performing portfolio analytics and creating executive ready exposure and modelled loss reports with commentary

- Working with underwriters and cat management function to improve data quality, modelling standards, and efficiency

- Providing support to portfolio roll-up and management, reinsurance structuring analysis, portfolio optimization, and live event loss assessment

- Undertaking research on various models strengths and weaknesses and providing guidance on how to reduce model uncertainties

Job Requirements:

- A minimum of 5 years cat modelling experience with Workers Comp/Fatality/Injury EQ models

- Familiar with major catastrophe models, including RMS and AIR

- Bachelor degree in science, engineering, mathematics, finance or related field; Advanced degree preferred

- Strong computer skills, including MS Office, VBA, SQL, and/or Matlab

- Experience with exposure data distribution methodologies will be a plus

- Experience with simulation methodologies

- Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills

- Works well both independently and as part of a team

- Strong business and collaboration skills, and responsive to service needs and operational demands

- Effective time management skills and customer focused
