Job Title: Profit and Loss Executive

Location: Chennai

Role Description:

This is a full-time on-site role for a Profit Center Manager [P&L Lead Role] located in Chennai/ Bengaluru. The Profit Center Manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations management, training, team management, customer service, and sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and profitability across various projects and business segments.

- Analyze financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and market trends.

Budgeting and Cost Management:

- Lead the annual budgeting process and establish financial targets and objectives aligned with the company's strategic goals.

- Monitor and control operating expenses, capital expenditures, and project costs to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

- Implement cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements to maximize profitability and ROI.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for internal and external stakeholders.

- Conduct variance analysis and performance evaluations to assess deviations from budgeted targets and identify underlying drivers.

- Communicate financial results, forecasts, and insights effectively to senior management, investors, and board members.

Risk Management and Compliance:

- Identify and assess financial risks, including market volatility, regulatory changes, and operational challenges, and develop mitigation strategies.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls to maintain financial integrity and transparency.

- Implement risk management protocols and contingency plans to safeguard the company's financial interests.

Strategic Planning and Decision Support:

- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and business expansion plans.

- Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate the financial implications of different strategic options and investment opportunities.

- Provide decision support and financial insights to support key business decisions and drive long-term growth and profitability.

Qualifications:

- Operations Management and Team Management skills

- 1-7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and cost management

- Open for -2 Years MBA Passouts & Lateral Positions [5-9 Years Work Ex]

- Experience in leading and managing teams

- Customer Service skills and ability to handle customer complaints and inquiries

- Sales skills and ability to meet/exceed sales targets

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, & PGDM/ MBA, Management degree, or related field

- Experience in the real estate industry is a plus

- CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional certifications are a plus.

- Proven track record of driving financial performance and profitability in a complex and dynamic business environment.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, develop insights, and make data-driven recommendations.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.

- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and financial management software.

- Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively, anticipate trends, and develop innovative solutions to business challenges.

Key KPIs and Measures of success for this role:

Revenue Growth:

- Year-over-year increase in total revenue.

- Growth in revenue from property sales, rentals, and other sources.

Profit Margins:

- Gross profit margin: Revenue minus the cost of goods sold (COGS) divided by revenue, expressed as a percentage.

- Net profit margin: Net income divided by total revenue, expressed as a percentage.

Cost Management:

- Controlling and reducing operating expenses.

- Monitoring and optimizing costs related to property development, maintenance, and marketing.

Return on Investment (ROI):

- ROI on property investments: Net profit from property sales or rentals divided by total investment in properties.

- ROI on marketing and promotional activities: Incremental revenue generated from marketing campaigns is divided by the cost of those campaigns.

Asset Performance:

- Occupancy rate for rental properties.

- Average rental yield: Annual rental income divided by the property's market value, expressed as a percentage.

Cash Flow Management:

- Operating cash flow: Cash generated from day-to-day business operations.

- Free cash flow: Operating cash flow minus capital expenditures.

Debt Management:

- Debt-to-equity ratio: Total debt divided by total equity, indicating the company's leverage.

- Debt service coverage ratio: Operating income divided by debt service obligations, measuring the company's ability to cover debt payments.

Portfolio Analysis:

- Performance analysis of individual properties or projects.

- Identification of underperforming assets and strategies for improvement or divestment.

Market Analysis:

- Monitoring real estate market trends and competitor performance.

- Adjusting strategies based on market conditions and opportunities.

Compliance and Risk Management:

- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

- Identifying and mitigating financial risks, such as interest rate fluctuations or regulatory changes.

Strategic Initiatives:

- Contributing to the development and execution of long-term business strategies.

- Evaluating potential investments, partnerships, or expansion opportunities.

Stakeholder Communication:

- Providing clear and transparent financial reporting to stakeholders, including investors, executives, and board members.

- Communicating financial performance, forecasts, and strategic insights effectively.

- By focusing on these KPIs and measures of success, the P&L leader or manager can drive financial performance, optimize operational efficiency, and support the overall growth and profitability of the Project.
