Capsave Finance - Head - Credit - SME Underwriting - Equipment & Machinery Finance

Background :

The position is with a new age NBFC - Capsave Finance Pvt Ltd which is primarily into equipment leasing and financing to the corporate clients (not into car leasing). The NBFC is backed by PE investor Bravia Capital based out of New York and Hongkong. It has started operations in 2016 and the current portfolio is around Rs 100 Cr with nil delinquency. The NBFC is focused on leasing of various equipment types ranging from IT products, various plant and machinery, testing equipments and commercial property fit outs to MNC and SME clients. The NBFC is not operating in construction equipment and commercial vehicle hiring segment as a strategy.

Role :

The NBFC is now looking to augment the underwriting team by hiring a Head of Credit to manage the entire underwriting and monitoring of the portfolio. The role will report to the CRO of the NBFC

Requisite experience :

- SME underwriting experience of 8 years in SME in a bank or NBFC

- Currently having approval authority will be preferable.

- Should be open to look at any type of credit - Retail/MSME/SME (future business lines)

- Team Leading experience is preferable

Qualification :

CA or MBA Finance or Bank POs.

Job Profile :

- Fundamentally strong in reading financial statements and deriving views

- End to end understanding of SME behavior and ability to decode business strength by meeting clients

- Ensuring compliance with RBI and internal policies

- Initiative to build score card/rating model for helping in quick decisions and also not compromising on quality of underwriting.

- Introduce new thought process in risk underwriting by way of unlearning rudimentary way of assessment.

- Own and streamline processes from quality perspective.

- Closely working with CEO and CRO and will be part of strategic decisions.
