The Software Development Manager, reporting to the Development Programme Manager, shall be responsible for the management of product development projects across several disparate development sites. Overseeing and line managing agile Scrum teams, the Software Development Manager shall possess the relevant experience, and have the right mix of technical and soft skills required to manage multiple Scrum teams, bringing development projects to successful conclusion. The Software Development Manager shall possess: - A can do attitude, takes ownership, is open and honest - Resilience in the face of adversity - The ability to use the authority devolved to them and act independently within appropriate and agreed parameters - A proven track record with 5 plus years of experience, managing software development projects - A proven track record of delivering software development projects of varying length and complexity - Demonstrable ability to identify and plan at a project level, accounting for work across multiple development disciplines (analysis, development, test etc) - Experience reporting to senior management level - A proven ability to find solutions to problems in order to achieve targets - Proven ability in resource planning, skill set identification and capacity planning - A proven track record delivering and reporting on budgets and short, medium and long-term timescales - Demonstrable ability to change management style to suit the circumstance, promote commitment and build team spirit Ideally, the Software Development Manager shall possess: - Qualifications to degree level, or appropriate equivalent industry experience and professional membership(s) - A software development background, having at some point technically managed - A professional programme management qualification is preferable (for example, PRINCE2TM)
